Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Manuel Jiménez de Parga, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page University of Madrid. English

edit

Hello, I saw that on Edmundo Bal, you wrote that "she launched a new political party called Cree, with an eye on the 2024 European Parliament elections, although she announced that she would not..." Why was this? Is it not clear that this bearded person is a male?

I noticed the exact same paragraph on the Spanish Wikipedia. As Spanish does not generally use third person pronouns, Google translate has to guess and insert one at random in English. Did you Google translate what you saw on Spanish Wikipedia? If you did so, and you left it saying "she", this suggests one of two things:

  1. You didn't proofread what you automatically translated, a WP:COMPETENCE issue
  2. Your level of English is insufficient to know that "she" is for women only

If the latter is the case, your contributions may be preferred on Spanish Wikipedia. Wikipedia can't be built on blind Google translations and leaving humans to clean up serious errors. Unknown Temptation (talk) 19:22, 9 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Another thing: I saw you have added infoboxes to hundreds of Spanish politicians, usually I don't put them at all but I don't object to others doing so. On Violeta Barba at least, you made lots of errors, assuming that she was ever deputy mayor of Zaragoza, that she is still in the Cortes and still vice president. The lead says she left politics and returned to law. If you make infoboxes, get the information off Spanish Wikipedia (their articles are a lot better), or even do your own research. Don't just rely on my crappy and incomplete articles. Making infoboxes for living people with mistakes for the sake of it helps nobody: it wastes your time for things you could actually contribute to, and everyone else's time cleaning up. Copying another editor's Wikipedia work?

Hello, I see you've recreated the page for Pablo Pereiro Lage. It appears that you've used much of the work of another editor, User:DH22 Mim, in your text. Are you familiar with WP:COPYWITHIN? If you are using someone else's work, even if it is licensed to Wikipedia, you must attribute it appropriately. Otherwise it may be in violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy (unless you are also DH22 Mim). Thanks. Dclemens1971 (talk) 16:35, 4 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
