Jefferson Franklin

I resonate my live experience to Lord Buddha’s quote below:

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”

A long-time survivalist (subject matter expert) and proponent of the American Redoubt (Intermountain West) located survival retreats / homesteads and of libertarian conservatism, a patriot (Oathkeepers - http://oathkeepers.org/oath, Project Appleseed, John Birch Society) and scholar of our amazing American Republic, my Wiki and Blog Nom de Plume is honoring Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin -- the two most influential Founding Fathers of our Republic of "These United States").

The great Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin both helped institute in our great Republic a constitutionally limited government (a night watchman state of limited government) and attempted to prevent big government and totalitarianism (such as the current nanny state / welfare state)

The wise and far-thinking Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin most influenced the Declaration of Independence, the United States Bill of Rights, the United States Constitution, not to mention the Federalist Papers (along with James Madison). Their wisdom is especially visible in the Second Amendment.

"You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass." Attributed to Isoroku Yamamoto, Fleet Admiral of the Imperial Japanese Navy

As a conservative libertarian, constitutionalist, paleoconservative, Libertarian Republican, I practice family preparedness and self-sufficiency in the event of catastrophe, including preparedness against the SHTF risks of a peak oil or another Great Depression, or other societal collapse, against electromagnetic pulse or coronal mass ejection and against a post-disaster TEOTWAWKI society which include rioting, looting, armed violence / home invasions and food shortages. Such preparedness involves Beans, Bullets, and Bandaids plus Bullion. Those are my three subject matter expert areas; meaning:

Food storage, canning, vegetable gardening, permaculture, livestock, hunting, fishing, aquaponics

I am a licensed concealed carry holder and EDC advocate, and a card-carrying member of the National Rifle Association, Gun Owners of America, Second Amendment Foundation, Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, Students for Concealed Carry on Campus, National Shooting Sports Foundation and Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Thus self defense is a God-given right acknowledged via the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution as reiterated by District of Columbia v. Heller. This implies personal firearms including a. handguns (Glock, M1911, Ruger LC9), b. shotguns (Mossberg 500 and Remington 870), c. rifles (AR-15, AR-10, Ruger Mini-14, Remington Model 700, Ruger 10/22) and ammunition (9 mm, 40S&W, 45 ACP, 308 Winchester, .223 Remington and 22LR), Pepper Spray/OC spray or Stun Gun/Tazer, hunting knife, survival knives, pocket knives and combat knives from Kershaw Knives, Buck Knives, Gerber, Spyderco and Cold Steel.

Junk silver, silver, gold, American Eagle, inflation hedge against hyperinflation of fiat currency, stagflation, and other ecomomic crash due to the ever-expanding federal debt and the Federal Reserve QE3 money printing and mortage property derivatives. US Dollar monetary devaluation, subprime mortgage crisis

Like Ron Paul and the John Birch Society, I actively support the auditing of, and aims to eventually dismantle, the Federal Reserve System.[1] and return to the Gold standard and silver standard.

My goal is to edit 500 Wiki pages over the next 30 days in the above 4 subject areas.

Over several years, under the topic of religion, I edited many articles under a now-discontinued user ID.

My studies and influences involve survivalist and/or conservative writers and/or heroes such as Ron Paul, William F. Buckley, Jr., President Ronald Reagan, James Wesley Rawles, Joel Skousen (Strategic Relocation), Mel Tappan, Jeff Cooper, Jack Spirko, M.D. Creekmore, Les Stroud, Bear Grylls, Cody Lundin, Paul Wheaton, Alex Jones, George Orwell's 1984, Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, Michael Crichton's The Andromeda Strain, Christopher Steiner's $20 Per Gallon: How the Inevitable Rise in the Price of Gasoline Will Change Our Lives for the Better, along with organizations and movements such as Project Appleseed.

Additionally apocalyptic fantasies and survival stories — such as Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe; Cormac McCarthy's popular novel The Road, or even Robert A. Heinlein's Starship Troopers — best described as Robinsonades have also influenced.

In Federalist Paper 45, James Madison (widely considered the ‘father of the United States Constitution”) promised the American people that:

"The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government, are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State."

Clearly the design of the Founders’ has been turned on its head. With the aid of complicit federal judges – which Thomas Jefferson called a “corps of sappers and miners” – who willfully misinterpret the Commerce Clause to grant the United States Congress the power to regulate literally anything, we now have a ruling class who will admit of no restraints on national power with a federal government of nearly unlimited de facto powers, grown like a metastasizing cancer far beyond the bounds of anything foreseen by even the most skeptical of Anti-Federalists from the Founding era.

--- So in my old age I hark back belatedly to the words of Henry David Thoreau:

“That government is best which governs least”; and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically. Carried out, it finally amounts to this, which also I believe — “That government is best which governs not at all”; and when men are prepared for it, that will be the kind of government which they will have. Government is at best but an expedient; but most governments are usually, and all governments are sometimes, inexpedient. The objections which have been brought against a standing army, and they are many and weighty, and deserve to prevail, may also at last be brought against a standing government. The standing army is only an arm of the standing government. The government itself, which is only the mode which the people have chosen to execute their will, is equally liable to be abused and perverted before the people can act through it.”
