editI'd like to add to or change bits of this article. In what areas would previous editors find this acceptable? I don't want to step on any toes. --Signsowned 22:47, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Cleanup
editDoes anyone know for what reasons this article (still) requires cleanup etc? Arkbar 13:47, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- I did a small clean-up, but it still reads like an unreferenced essay. The city as system and city systems are unreferenced, and are posited as undisputed parts of what Urban Geography constitutes. Many postmodern geographers have confronted theories of city networks --Cooper-42 10:42, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
It depends entirely on your approach, personally I'd argue that even the 'urban realms' and 'keno-capitalism' models of the city accept the notion of the city as network and system, albeit not in the way that it's written in this article Arkbar 22:15, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
- Generally, the article needs to be proofread. It needs a lot more punctuation and organization of subject to object. Words like "probably" and "myriads" have to be accurately quantified. Also, the article only has one reference. Although it may be legitimately sourced, the article is suspect of plagiarism or copyright infringement. --Emana (talk) 23:57, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
New section on urbanization?
editIt seems worthwhile to mention -- maybe in a new section -- that the world's population has largely moved from rural to urban environments. (Especially in the wake of the industrial revolution.) An example from Britain is discussed in a chapter of this book: King, Russell (2007). Atlas of human migration (1st printing ed.). Buffalo, N.Y.: Firefly Books. ISBN 1554072875.
