added ERA-related incidents (too utah-centric?)
editI added some information about actions the LDS church took regarding the ERA--the IWY attendance and forbidding the Alice Reynolds forum from discussing the ERA at BYU. Both are kind of Utah-centric, so I'll be on the lookout for articles that talk about feminist activity outside Utah and the US. I know the prop 8 canvassing in California was a big issue, would that fall under feminism as well? Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 17:45, 24 October 2016 (UTC)
Rename Subsections
editI think the subsections on this article ought to be renamed for the sake of clarity. Calling them "first wave", "second wave", and "third wave" feminism is a bit misleading, as many of the women spoken of within the sections may not consider themselves part of such movements. Further, some of the issues that concern(ed) Mormon feminists are not/were not on the radars of secular feminists of that particular wave. It might be better to name the sections after particular time periods. (e.g. 1840-1920's)Gypsy Danger Dynamite (talk) 07:21, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Gypsy Danger Dynamite, I say go ahead! When I think of Mormon feminists, I tend to think of the pioneer suffragists, the feminist revival in the 70s with Exponent II and the ERA, and the Mormon feminism of now (Ordain Women and also less radical Mormon feminism). Plenty of options for alternative subject headings. Rachel Helps (BYU) (talk) 16:25, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
