Stupid map used to depict Kurdish-inhabited region in Syria

edit
This map that was added by Paradise is in no way or form acceptable to be included in this article for the following reasons:
  1. It has no source
  2. Almost 80-90% of the area in the map has overwhelming Arab majority (eg., Aleppo, Azaz, Tel Abyad to Ras al-Ayn, al-Ba, Manbij, all the areas south of Hasaka town). Vanly talks about three Kurdish inhabited pockets in Syria: east and west of Qamishli, Ayl al-Arab and Afrin. Anything beyond that is false.

For all these reasons, we can only use ethnographic maps, rather than random claims by anyone. At the end of the day, this is an encyclopedia, not a Kurdish propagandopedia.Amr ibn Kulthoumعمرو بن كلثوم (talk) 21:57, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

It's an excellent map, that clearly shows irredentist Kurdish nationalist ambitions for Syria. Maps just like it can be seen on many Kurdish nationalist websites. You're correct that much of the area highlighted is Arab-majority; that's how irredentism works. Konli17 (talk) 23:27, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

No, not on wikipedia. Amr ibn Kulthoumعمرو بن كلثوم (talk) 23:38, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

No need to worry, we can make it clear that it's an ambition of Kurdish nationalists, not of Wikipedia. Konli17 (talk) 23:49, 8 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Do you believe we could make it clearer? Have you any problems with the rest of the edit? Konli17 (talk) 17:21, 17 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, but I have not added any map. Also if you don't like the map, why don't you just remove the map instead of reverting the whole edit. I mean, you often do that, Ibn Amr, you often revert the whole edit just because of one, two words you don't like. But a lot of the edit makes the article really better, also from the orthographic and grammerly point of view.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 17:23, 17 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Amr does this frequently, and whinges hypocritically when others do it to them. It's quite distasteful. Konli17 (talk) 17:25, 17 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Konli17, stop the personal attacks and focus on the content, or you will be reported and banned AGAIN. You are pushing your extremist Kurdish-nationalistic POV agenda here. Faking the refrence of Dawn Shatty to talk about a Syrian Kurdistan and Turkish Kurds moving to Syria to live with Syrian Kurds is a lie. Since you are talking about consensus (being yourself and paradise), I am inviting other interested users as well; @Attar-Aram syria:, @ThePharoah17:. Amr ibn Kulthoumعمرو بن كلثوم (talk) 16:58, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
Your hypocrisy knows no bounds, as you complain about personal attacks while engaging in them. I'm not a Kurdish nationalist, let alone an extremist, and I defy you to show any edit I've made that would give any reasonable person such an impression. I don't know what your waffling about faking references refers to. Konli17 (talk) 17:18, 19 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Comment: I dont think its wrong adding the irredentist map if it is sourced properly to a reliable source and as long as it is clarified in the caption that it represent irredentist claims not reality.--Attar-Aram syria (talk) 13:47, 20 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

OK. Here are some sources for Kurdish irredentist maps, from Kurdish irredentists, their supporters, and opponents: [1] [2] [3] [4] Konli17 (talk) 15:33, 29 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Removal of section on Kurdish women in military and politics under section Kurdish women in nationalism

edit

@Paradise Chronicle You have removed my edit stating that while interesting it has nothing to do with Kurdish nationalism, this section can be edited or clarified instead of removed. Let me make it clear why this section did indeed relate to Kurdish nationalism: The section you removed described two things: women in the PKK and women in Kurdish political parties in Turkey; PKK is one of the biggest actors of Kurdish nationalism currently, of course women's contribution in the PKK is their contribution to Kurdish nationalism, this section details their role in the PKK to show their role in the Kurdish nationalist struggle. Secondly, though you could argue that because the section of politics uses examples of women in politics within Turkey, this would not be a fair assessment. Like many other nationalist movements, Kurds also advance their nationalist interests in the legal fields of nations they are seeking autonomy/independence from. Kurdish political parties in Turkey are known as the "legal leg" of the nationalist struggle. What can be done is to edit the section to show its relevance even more clearly, though I did not think that it came across as such. Please respond in a more detailed manner why you have removed the section or think it is irrelevant to the topic at hand. If I know the reasons you felt it was necessary to remove it I can respond better and maybe improve it. I will wait for your response briefly, to edit the section before re-uploading it again, if you make valid points towards the sections improvement. Otherwise I will undo your removal without editing the section as I don't think "its irrelevant" is a comprehensive enough explanation from your side. Thank you Lekolinzaningeh (talk) 21:31, 10 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

The PKK is mentioned elsewhere in the article. And from the section it was not clear what women had to do with nationalism. Then many of the parties have very little to do with nationalism, in the past even explicitly said they do not want an independent country but more political and cultural (Kurdish) rights within Turkey. The PKK said so already around 1993. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 05:03, 11 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Title should be pan-Kordism

edit

Notice the hypocrisy of refusing to call it pan-Kordism. That is the only name it should go by. Sickofthisbs (talk) 16:03, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Did someone refuse to call it that? Why should it be called that? Why is it the only name it should go by? What is it about the failure to use that term that is correctly described by the word "hypocrisy"? If you think an article should have a different name, you have to make a more compelling case than just declaring it to be so and lashing out at anyone who may disagree.
