Alleged alcoholism
editI removed the following sentence:
- Smith also reportedly struggled with alcoholism
The cite was simply "Sean Wilentz, Kingdom of Matthis." There is a book by this title, co-authored by Paul E. Johnson and Sean Wilentz. On page 10 it makes a passing reference to "the Mormon Joseph Smith, who gave his broken, alcoholic father the honorific position of Patriarch of his new church…." The claim is not footnoted or sourced, however. This claim needs a stronger source than an off-hand, unsourced comment in a book that's not even about Joseph Smith in the first place.— Preceding unsigned comment added by MrWhipple (talk • contribs) 02:16, 17 September 2012
