Move
edit"Doordarshan has lots of different domain names, but this has the highest Google rank"
Moved the quoted line above (originally a comment on the main Doordarshan page) to this talk page after replacing http://www.ddindia.net/ with http://www.ddindia.com/ which seems to be the real Doordarshan homepage — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.90.127.102 (talk) 20:19, 19 February 2005 (UTC)
Citation needed
editWe need a citation for this text: DoorDarshan has also been criticised by some, as state media and hence not completely free. Thanks. ≈ jossi ≈ t • @ 21:07, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
name
editThe name is "Doordarshan" not "DoorDarshan", I think. deeptrivia (talk) 20:28, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
Is "DoorDarshan" purely a name, or is it composed of words that can be translated into English? If so, the translation would be helpful.
Also, is the double "oo" a long "o", or is it the distinctive English spelling for "u" that sometimes shows up in older transcriptions? Hcunn (talk) 15:40, 18 November 2015 (UTC)
Unjustified comment
edit
sadly the information on picking up this channel is other countries is pretty weak.
I may be only guessing here but passing any personal comment is not exactly upto wikipedia's standards. I hope the "sadly" can be removed:):):(:(:):):(:( — Preceding unsigned comment added by Abhishekmathur (talk • contribs) 01:25, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
External links modified
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Doordarshan. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20061017205609/http://www.passionfortruthtv.com/Mediawatcher.html to http://passionfortruthtv.com/Mediawatcher.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

DD Kisan may not be individually notable. However instead of deletion, merging the content may be a better option ChunnuBhai (talk) 10:51, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
no need to merge
editthere is no need to merge doordarshan with dd kisan, it should be noted that DD kisan has became a popular channel and is a subsidiary of doordarshan itself. Hence i am waiting for an objection from any editor within 72 hours, i will remove the tag of merge from doordarshan. i welcome any discussion. Lollitol (talk) 14:37, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

Is Indian English or American English more appropriate for this article?
editThe article seems to have been written in Indian English, with words like "organisation" appearing in lieu of "organization" and "colour" instead of "color." Additionally, some grammar seems to be off relative to the standard of American English. One specific example of this is "These channels are relayed by all terrestrial transmitters in India" under the Channels section.
Can someone please advise as to what is more appropriate within the scope of this article? Thanks!

- Although my response is very late, both should do. Most people will understand the differently spelled words intuitively.SenatorLEVI (talk) 04:49, 17 December 2020 (UTC)
- No, articles that are connected to a specific English-speaking country should use the varity of English used in that country, whether it is Indian English, Standard British English, American English, Australian English, or some other variety. In this article, there would be no reason to use American English grammar, spelling, or vocabulary. --bonadea contributions talk 17:09, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
