editThe colours on the map are incorrect: "Revitalize Northeast China" relates to, of course, the northeast provinces including Jilin, but currently have the colour of the eastern provinces. And vice versa. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.2.78.135 (talk) 13:28, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
The final sentence of the first paragraph is inflammatory, suggesting the program is exploiting people, neutrality needs to be maintained. Also referring to the Xinjiang region as East Turkestan is not appropriate. I have therefore edited that. Discussion needs to be had over changing the sentence as a whole. "This region contains 71.4% of mainland China's area, but only 28.8% of its population, as of the end of 2002, and 16.8% of its total economic output, as of 2003." --Does anyone know the source for these numbers?
"China's western regions have reported an annual average economic growth rate of 10.6% for six years in a row. "--Again what is the source for this information? And what 6 years are being referred to? Can someone please send this information to me? I have been looking everywhere online and cannot find it.Ggilrea1 (talk) 12:13, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
And I am interested about this part in the article "There are minor side benefits, of course, but if it continues Tibetans will become a completely insignificant minority increasingly marginalized."", because the Tibet article says, that the Han chinese population in Tibet is at about 6,1 % of the hole population, so is it possible to say, that tibetans are a minority, if they are more than 90% of the population? (and the "of course" part is also questionable!) --Nsae Comp (talk) 07:51, 6 June 2008 (UTC) This article turns into a pro-tibet rant at the end, which is unacceptable. Political propaganda deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vlad Dracula (talk • contribs) 02:28, 9 June 2008 (UTC) There are SERIOUS problems with this page, which is surprising for such an important topic. Parts if it are even nonsensical. Someone please take the time to do a proper writeup, and correct some of the asinine vocabulary and imprecise/unsubstantiated statements. If I had time I would. This is an embarrassment for Wikipedia, especially for such an important topic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.177.114.12 (talk) 13:21, 10 May 2013 (UTC) |
