Return to Cunard
editThe Russo-Japanese War ended in September 1905. Dating Rostron's return to the Cunard Line to 1912 must be wrong.Mikedash 08:27, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Yes it must be. While RNVR reservists like Rostron were called up because of a perceived danger of Britain being drawn into the Russo-Japanese War, none would have remained in service for over six years in peacetime. I have deleted the specific date given, until someone can confirm it.Buistr (talk) 05:11, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Electric Spark
editAs a former sea captain I am a huge admirer of Arthur Rostron. I know he had the nickname "The Electric Spark" because of his keen and quick mind. I don't have a source for this, though. I just know this because this has often been told to me. Gingermint (talk) 01:57, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Sextant
editRostron's extant, which he was alleged to have been used on the night of the Titanic sinking, appeared on BBC's Antiques Roadshow on 22 March 2015, where it was valued at between £30,000 and £40,000: [1] Martinevans123 (talk) 21:02, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
Switching photos
editI would like to switch photos on the bio page. The photo captioned Capt. A.H. Rostron while master of Carpathia in April 1912 seems much more appropriate for the 'infobox' than the photo currently there, captioned Rostron receiving a "loving cup" from Margaret Brown for his rescue of Titanic survivors in 1912. The "loving cup" photo is better suited in the section regarding the Titanic. I will make the change if there are no objections within a couple weeks. Thanks. - Xenxax (talk) 19:18, 16 April 2016 (UTC)
