Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Semi-protection: BLP policy violations – Special:Contribs/2400:2413:8340:BA12::/64 has, for the past five days, inserted BLP-violating content to the article against the 1RR in effect, not heeding warnings. Jasper Deng (talk) 12:19, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Long-term disruptions & fan edits. Krimuk2.0 (talk) 20:07, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: Sudden mass of unsourced/puffery IP edits - Arjayay (talk) 21:19, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Unregistered users keep adding a unconfirmed and unsourced person to cast list (IPs from Bosnia, where they are from). Will not discuss on talk page. Also others are indiscriminately deleting content. Mike Allen 21:47, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. Renewal6 (talk) 00:54, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection. Griffin is a deranged conspiracy theorist with legions of fans so this is an extremely sensitive article, one that has been targeted for years. On August 3rd, I requested indefinite protection because this page never, ever went more than a few days without getting vandalized by one of its subject's worshippers. Even a brief scroll through its history would reveal how perpetually vulnerable it is so I figured it was an honest mistake when User:QEDK protected it for only three months. The article was automatically unprotected on October 3rd and like clockwork, it was vandalized less than 48 hours later, an attack that never would have happened had my request been fulfilled. If this page doesn't get protected indefinitely, it will be vandalized at least every week and almost always more often than that. CityOfSilver 01:06, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Declined @CityOfSilver: I know this kind of article is a problem but there has only been one IP edit since protection expired, and there had been no protection for over 2+12 years before that. Moreover, the article is indefinitely under pending changes. Please never refer to living people as "deranged" on any page at Wikipedia (WP:BLP). The point needs to be made with more subtlety. Yes, it is being subject to a coordinated tagteam effort to overwhelm the ability of watchlisters to keep up. The PoV-warriors are all trying to inject the word "racist" or a synonym into the lead sentence. So far this has involved 45.188.165.254, 152.203.243.147, Radlizard92, Jundeex, 160.20.246.2, 2806:2a0:41a:8059:45b0:a45b:20a:471e, 189.216.27.111, and 181.115.6.42. Only one of them's been blocked yet.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  05:50, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of two weeks, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. It's likely disruption will continue but the page hasn't been protected before and we have to escalate. Johnuniq (talk) 06:07, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
