The Gran Dragon is a monster that first appeared in the Game Boy Color remake of Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation. It serves as a superboss, which can be battled at the Ice Cave after collecting the first 155 Monsters Medals in Bronze and Silver.
It remained exclusive to the GBC port of the game until returning to the series with Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3.
Appearances[edit]
Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit]
The Gran Dragon can be found in the deepest level of the GBC Exclusive bonus dungeon, the Ice Cave. In order to make it to the Gran Dragon, The Hero must have the first 155 Bronze Monster Medals, and the first 155 Silver Monster Medals.
The Gran Dragon attacks exactly as Xenlon does. Defeating it for the first time merits it rewarding The Hero with the Rubiss sword. Defeating it in under 18 turns will result in it awarding The Hero with its own Monster Medals. Talking to the Gran Dragon after obtaining all Gold Monster Medals results in it congratulating the player for their hard work, then falling asleep.
