One of S. J. Pemberton's clients is having trouble with his trucking business, as the loads keep coming up short on weight at arrival. Synopsis for "Newsboy Legion: The Proud Poppas"

The Newsboys rescue a younger kid named Pete from being run over by trucks, and when they try to figure out where his parents are from are convinced by his description of where he'd run from that he's an orphan. They decide to take him under their wing, but he seems to attract a lot of kidnapping attempts. Eventually he's nabbed along with the rest of the Legion. They're rescued due to Pete leaving a quick drawing while the Newsboys tried to fight off the attackers and the kids discover that their new charge is actually the nephew of a famously wealthy man rather than the impoverished orphan they thought him to be.
