Synopsis for "The Lesson: Tunnel Vision, Part One"
The Order of the Scythe has robbed three branches of Gotham Bank and Trust in the last week. Even though there was over a million dollars in cash in the third bank, they only took a couple thousand. Batgirl wants to know why Detective Gage is taking the case personally, but he doesn't answer. The Grey Ghost listens into their conversation from outside the bank as Batgirl says she needs to get to her “day job.”
Stephanie Brown confers with Barbara Gordon, though Oracle is “dead” while Bruce Wayne has her building a new internet, and she asks her to talk to Wendy Harris, who has taken Oracle's supposed retirement hard. She goes to Intro to Dynamic Systems, where she isn't the only student to fall asleep, but unlike Xane Swift, she manages to take some notes. He is preoccupied memorizing a map.
The next night, Batgirl catches the Grey Ghost spying on her again and tells him he needs help. She is contacted by Proxy, who tells her Slipstream is on the way to another bank. The Grey Ghost teleports there but is quickly defeated, and when Batgirl arrives, she fails to land a hit but manages to steal the reaper's spray can. Slipstream knocks them both to the ground, but when he says, “Time to die, Batgirl,” his suit is overridden and he is forced to flee.
Batgirl brings the spray can to Firewall, which has been updated by Batman Incorporated. Proxy scans the can and learns it's a tracking spray. Slipstream sprayed all the money he left behind, and during an upcoming transfer, he plans to steal all the money at once.
