13 Emperors

[edit]

Hi Deadkid.dk, you changed most of the descriptions linked to the Thirteen Emperors Scroll. That means I did a lot of work in vain by trusting ibiblio.org, where I discovered the pictures. Are you dead serious they're all falsely attributed?? .:. Sarazyn 20:23, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

dk here. Not all of the 13 portraits are falsely attributed, only the ones I editted are. I am dead certain, because I even found a Chinese source to make sure (while the Chinese characters on the portraits themselves pretty much identifies the subjects drawn). I haven't looked at the other things on the site, so I can't say whether your work was in vain. (I hope not) 198.162.33.19 00:29, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In that case, thank you very much for your research. Can you please re-upload the pictures using proper names and replace them in the articles? (BTW: Which one is Sun Quan according to your research? I'm currently working to get his article featured so it's essential for me not to put the wrong picture there :). Regards, .:. Sarazyn 11:57, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Liu Bei Emperor Xuande.jpg is Sun Quan, and Image:Sun Quan Tang.jpg is Liu Bei. However, the Chinese source I found for the Thirteen Emperors Scroll also said its depictions of emperors before the w:Southern and Northern Dynasties were unreliable. I would reupload the pics...but wouldn't that produce duplicate pictures? Deadkid dk 23:36, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You'll have to mark the duplicates for speedy deletion, using new name. .:. Sarazyn 13:23, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I've done the rest of the emperors. By the way, do you have any more images for the Three Kingdoms? (For Red Cliffs, especially, seeing that it's on its way to become featured) Deadkid dk 05:34, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Underbar dk!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Pay attention to copyright
File:NanyueKingMusuemBrochures.JPG has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. My uploads

[edit]

Dk, I know you have little patience, but I edited the information for most of my uploaded images in which you nominated for deletion. Please review them and withdraw the deletion nomination requests for each that you which might be satisfied with if any at all. I removed the nomination notices for my google maps pic because I had it uploaded for someone to crop and edit. Same thing for the church only I'm serious about my religion and that offended me. Smartass comments made in frustration, so don't hold a grudge. Thanks. --Kamek98 (talk) 20:15, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What part of copyright violation don't you understand? You don't just upload things you found on the internet onto Wikimedia Commons. All of these deserve to be deleted for having unclear copyright statuses. Deadkid dk (talk) 20:21, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You told me yourself that I should source Romance of Three Kingdoms on the illustrations, I know copyright violation is against Commons and is illegal, but yet you still need to tell me how I'm doing things wrong when I changed the images. The images with the circle tag on them are by an unknown author as used in the image on Wikipedia's Zhuge Liang article. You yourself reverted the version where Kongming appeared as he did in Dynasty Warriors 6. It still says an unknown author and expired date. The only difference was where I got the images, from another online page. The one's from the Qing's edition of ROTK have the same ones in my copy of the book, so you need to explain to me why I would have copyright violation to those particular ones? Those have expired in date over 400 years ago (ROTK)! I don't care if the images of the church sign or my screenshot of Google Maps are deleted, but the one's for the Three Kingdoms I do want to stay! All I am doing is trying to contribute to the project! I don't get what you want from me, man... --Kamek98 (talk) 20:53, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You're not reading. I've already explained how the images I nominated for deletion couldn't have come from the Qing Dynasty. Deadkid dk (talk) 21:00, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the one's such as Yan Liang and Zhuge Jin are. How can any of the ones on Wikipedia be just like mine and still be from the Qing Dynasty? Oh, and see the copyright license for my uploads such as Zhao Yun sculpture. He uploaded them to Photobucket, the terms of use there state that its free for sharing around the world.--Kamek98 (talk) 11:45, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You said it's from Moss Roberts's Romance of the Three Kingdoms. For all I know the images in that book had been redrawn. For the Zhao Yun sculpture, the license for photobucket means it's good for photobucket to share to the world, not for wikipedia. If you don't agree with my interpretation, go ask around at the Commons:Village pump perhaps. Deadkid dk (talk) 13:41, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, back to the ROTK photos. The images in the book have probably been redrawn. But not all of those images where from Roberts'. My grandpa has the Qing Dynasty edition and has the images that weren't in Roberts'. So that's dealt with. Now, Roberts' book has some of the same images that appear in the Qing Dynasty version, only difference bearing color. (Like Yellow)--Kamek98 (talk) 19:38, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You're lying, stop talking. Deadkid dk (talk) 01:09, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No I'm not. I'm done with you. Please, leave me alone and I'll leave you alone. You are discriminating my contributions. I've tried, and I've tried and I've tried. Consider me out of 3K for a while now, thanks for the kind welcome, you know how to a newbie welcome.--Kamek98 (talk) 00:20, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Special reason why you categorised this file under Category:Ships of BC Ferries? Found it on a certain ship? I assume that this type of firestops is used in much more cases. --Stunteltje (talk) 05:55, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Stunteltje: The caption for the image in the English Wikipedia article it is used on describes it to be from a BC Ferry ship. Underbar dk (talk) 05:58, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'll ask User:Ahering@cogeco.ca which ship. Because ship installations differ in the years. I assume it is not used in all ferries. --Stunteltje (talk) 06:18, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Given the age of the upload, this is a pretty long shot, but when uploading this photo did you download the model? The URL appears to be down and the domain is unfortunately excluded from the Wayback Machine. detriaskies 03:01, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@DetriaSkies Sorry, I don't remember downloading the model (it's been 17 years) and it's likely that I didn't since I wasn't familiar with the software. I've switched computers a few times since then so I don't really know where it could be even if I did. Underbar dk (talk) 03:13, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
