Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and or licensing of this particular file. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? Thank you. --Hi, I have reverted your update on Image:Karte Deutschland.png because it was showing a yellowish border that in my opinion was not an improvement. Please be aware that this image is being used to put a dot on based on coordinates for German municipalities, so it is used on thousands and thousands of pages all over many Wikipedias. Cheers! Siebrand 10:34, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- I know :) That's why it has to be changed. I cannot see anything when I view it on a Laptop, and I guess other users also can't see a thing with this map. The color of the border is not that important, but it has to visible somehow. I changed the border color to white, should be fine now. --Der Eberswalder 11:02, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
You're going to need to supply some very convincing evidence for an actual GFDL license on Image:Mandaryna 11.jpeg - the website doesn't show anything that I could see. Stan Shebs 18:02, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- I was only temporarily filling it with GFDL. It is actually CC 2.5 --Der Eberswalder 18:06, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Karte Deutschland
Category:History of Prussia
[edit]Is Category:History of Prussia necessary anymore? --Iamunknown 20:37, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know, I guess not. I put in a del-template. --Der Eberswalder 06:50, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Hi! I've come across this image of yours in the Kaliningrad Oblast Wikipedia article. I have three remarks about it that I would like to make. First it's a shame that it's so small, but I guess there are enough hi-res maps of Europe for anyone who would like to see one. But this brings me to my second observation which is that Kaliningrad Oblast is not particularly highlighted on the map in my opinion. I think maybe a stronger red fill or an arrow or a more zoomed-in picture of the region (in which case a map of Europe could replace the map of the world in the corner I guess) would suit it better. And the last observation comes from my attempt to get in touch with the creator of the map to discuss these earlier observations: in the summary of the image the name of the author is "me". That is not very informative :). Thanks for the map anyway! --80.98.140.216 02:59, 19 February 2007 (UTC) (I don't know how to link to my wikipedia userpage, but you can find me as "cyhawk" there if you want to get in touch!)
- Yes it is very small. I think I will make a better version. CU. --Der Eberswalder 06:50, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Tip: Categorizing images
[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 13:09, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

File tagging File:Karte kongresspolen.png
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading File:Karte kongresspolen.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

Hallo, die obige Karte finde ich sehr schön, könntest Du sie evtl. auch auf Deutsch hochladen, oder als svg-Version, damit man sie übersetzen kann ? --Furfur (talk) 00:23, 20 May 2014 (UTC)
- Ich habe damals aus einer gemeinfreien Karte der polnischen Wikipedia einen Ausschnitt erstellt. Eine svg-Version habe ich leider nicht. Der Eberswalder (talk) 17:37, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

If you created the content yourself, enter If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |

About Kongresspolen 1815
[edit]While Congress Poland was created at the 1815 Congress of Vienna, this original map [1], as restored by some users, represents :
- the borders of Saxony between 1806 and 1814/1815 ;
- the word “Pommern” or Pomerania mainly in Mecklenburg on the western bank of Oder ;
- Sweden's western coast as a dam through Kattegat strait ;
- while during the existence of Congress Poland, Danzig was Prussian, Gdańsk is yellow as a free city, as Krakow ;
- while russian Bessarabia is also a part (the eastern part) of the historical region of “Moldau” or Moldavia, this word appears only on the western bank of Pruth, in Rumania, instead of being across ;
- while until 1867 the “Kaiserreich Österreich” or Austrian Empire was thus divided [2] and Bukovina and Tarnopol strip never belong to Hungary, the map shows “Österreich-Ungarn” or Austria-Hungary many years before the 1867 agreement, with Bukovina and Tarnopol strip as hungarian.
Would you please modify this? Following current Commons' rules, only you can do it. Thank you, Claude Zygiel (talk) 09:07, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
