No FoP for interior works in Austria A1Cafel (talk) 04:28, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This year the European Championships as multi sport event was not a thing, so "European championships in 2024" should suffice. FakirNL (talk) 08:07, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Way too recent as a bulding/structure in order to fall out of copyrights, since there's no FOP in Greece. 🏺ⲈⲨⲐⲨⲘⲈⲚⲎⲊ🏛️ ⲱⲑⲏⲥⲁⲧⲉ 08:24, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Artworks form albums published in Argentina in the 1990s. The images are in the PD in Argentina, but they are still copyrighted in the United States. Notice that the US entered in the Berne Convention in 1989 and do not apply the shorter term rule.

Album covers from Argentine signer Sandra Mihanovich published between 1977 and 1984. They are currently in the public domain in its country of origin (25 years after publication), but they were not in 1996 at URAA time. Thus, they are still copyrighted in the US. Following COM:PCP we cannot keep these images.

The painting technique of this portrait is very bad, almost at the level of a child. Summing up, such a drawing does not fit in the articles. Thyj (talk) 09:42, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The photographs itself is freely licensed, but the portrait of Mahathir is not. You need to obtain the permission of the copyright holder and submit it to VRT--A1Cafel (talk) 14:11, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is an image of an animated character on the left side of the logo text, it is possible that the animated image is a derivative work of copyrighted content. Astrinko (talk) 15:44, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's a pixelated frame of a character of a video game from 1992 called Streets of Rage 2.
Should I change the license for this image? AviFB (talk) 07:30, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, if the logo uses a 1990s character, then the image of the character's face is copyrighted. The logo meets the copyright threshold. Copyrighted files should not be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons (unless the copyright owner of the logo allows the logo to be freely shared including on Wikimedia Commons platforms). The curves are not simple geometric shapes like circles and triangles. The curves suggest vertical and horizonta stablizers. So the American Airlines decision may put the image above COM:TOO-US. COM:PCP. Glrx (talk) 16:07, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Glrx: Maybe we could remove the wings icon, leaving only the name "Aeroporto internazionale di Napoli”? That should be simple geometric shapes. I’d appreciate your opinion. –Yeagvr (talk) 18:22, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The text would not have a copyright. A better result would be if there is some other basis for a free license. Glrx (talk) 14:19, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • COM:INUSE. The Wikiquote entry is thin, but I don't know what Wikiquote entries usually look like and in any case don't consider any of us in a position to judge Wikiquote entries, as we shouldn't be deleting files when they're in use, unless there's some legal reason to do so. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:57, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Which one? The one behind him is PD-inelligible (just arabic text) and the one of the TV station is de minimis (and could be redacted, too). PaterMcFly (talk) 13:58, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The PressTv one Kelly The Angel (talk) 16:09, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think this can be considered de minimis. It's clearly not the scope of the video, and it's quite small. PaterMcFly (talk) 08:41, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Youtube channel "Iran Military" is clearly not the copyright owner, this is a footage from Press TV, courtesy of the Lebanese group Hezbollah, which exclusively airs all of its leader's speeches. Protected per Lebansese law. HeminKurdistan (talk) 18:55, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Keep To be eligible for a copyright in the US, the creator would have had to register for a copyright, then renew that copyright. I cannot find either in the USCO database under the sitters name or the photographers name. It is very rare for a photographer to copyright an image, the Associated Press never did. The expense outweighs any potential future earnings. --RAN (talk) 06:59, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
