I've been a Wikipedian since 20 May, 2008. I am an investment professional, junk bonds a specialty. I grew up in Wayne, PA, lived in the Needham / Natick MA area for the past 25 years. I've been married for 30 years, and have two children aged 23 and 21. I am old enough to remember writing reports on a typewriter (a non electronic, instantly printing computing device), using Wite-out to correct errors. I took computer at Radnor High School in 1972 where we connected to a DEC PDP-8 to which we connected using a teletype. I remember the first personal computer I ever saw, an Apple II series, and the first I ever used, an IBM Personal Computer with no hard drive and 2 5 1/4" floppy drives. I am interested in contributing to biographies, particularly people from Boston, Massachusetts, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York State, and Ontario. I also contribute to articles centered mostly on those areas. I am descended from the Townsend family of Oyster Bay, Long Island and Albany NY, from Captain John Underhill, the first Captain of the Guard for Massachusetts Bay Colony, from John Howland who came over on the Mayflower, and from the McAlpin and Brandreth families who made a fortune in tobacco and patent medicine respectively. That's why you see the pattern of articles that you do! Sometimes I troll through copyright-expired magazines and books online to see if any graphic elements would help enhance Wikipedia and will upload them. That's why you see a seemingly random element to some of my contributions! |
