Written by Aude Léa Rapin in collaboration with Jonathan Couzinié, the screenplay focuses on Joachim, an actor, and Alice, a director in the making. One morning, a tramp mistakes Joachim for a criminal called Zoran who died on 21 August 1983, the day of Joachim's birth... The two friends soon become obsessed with the coincidence and it develops into the perfect starting point for a film. They decide to go in search of Zoran's grave, a quest that will take them to the Balkans, an area haunted by the ghosts of war. While directing their film about reincarnation, Alice grants Joachim his last wishes. His heart is fragile, his life hanging on a thread, and Alice is about to make him immortal forever.
Produced by Sylvie Pialat and Benoît Quainon for Les Films du Worso, Heroes Don't Die has a €1,000,000 budget. Co-produced by delegate Clément Miserez for Radar Films, the feature film was also co-produced by the Belgian outfit Scope Pictures and the Bosnian outfit SSCA/PRO.BA. Pre-purchased by Ciné+, the film has received financial support from Sofica Cinecap, Cineventure and Arte/Cofinova. The five weeks of filming will end on 7 August and will include two days in Paris and 23 days in Bosnia with Paul Guilhaume (Ava [+leggi anche:
