We are thrilled to have 50 Residential Aged Care Homes in the Far West and Western NSW region participating in a healthdirect After Hours General Practitioner (AHGP) support trial. The pilot provides a dedicated after hours phoneline for registered and enrolled nurses in participating RACHs. The service is intended for use when a) the patient’s condition or health concern cannot wait for the patient’s regular GP, and b) they are not unwell enough for the emergency department. Calls are triaged and e-scripts for some medications are possible. If you are from a RACH in the region and would like to know more please reach out to us by emailing agedcare@wnsw.phn.org.au #AgedCare #healthdirect #AfterHours

A huge congratulations to all the graduates who now have a Cert III in Community Services and will be providing much needed support to our regional and rural communities!
What an incredible way to wrap up a fantastic week! Last Friday, we celebrated the nine First Nations Graduates from the third cohort of our Aboriginal Workforce Development Initiative who graduated with a Certificate III in Community Services. They join 20 other graduates from the program, bringing the total to 29 graduates – strengthening the First Nations workforce across Western NSW. A massive thank you to all the host employers Maranguka Community Hub , Brewarrina Local Aboriginal Land Council, and Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia Lightning Ridge Wellbeing Place, who supported these graduates to gain valuable work experience in their community during their studies. It was wonderful to have our community partner and host employer, Alister Ferguson from Maranguka Community Hub in Bourke join us at the graduation ceremony. Thank you also to the Regional Enterprise Development Institute Ltd (REDI.E) for supporting the graduates with their studies and hosting the graduation. The initiative is supported by funding from the Western NSW Primary Health Network and the NSW Government’s Regional Aboriginal Partnerships Program. We are so proud of this group and can not wait to see the difference they make in their communities. Congratulations to our graduates!
