Publication History[edit]The Apocalipstix made their first appearance in the Rumble Royale anthology published by the Royal Academy of Art & Design in 2003. Since then they have appeared in several short stories in other publications, notably the Comics Festival anthologies published by the Toronto Comic Arts Festival to celebrate Free Comic Book Day. Fawkes and Stewart were approached by Oni Press to develop the shorts into a full length graphic novel in 2006. The inspiration for the characters came when Cameron Stewart was working as illustrator of DC Comics' Catwoman. Feeling exhausted by drawing the architecture of Gotham City, he joked that his next project needed to be set in a desert. A short list of other things that would be enjoyable for him to draw were pretty girls and musical instruments. He approached his friend, writer Ray Fawkes (creator and co-writer of the miniseries Mnemovore for DC Comics' Vertigo imprint) to develop an idea of a rock band in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic setting. Fawkes then created the backstory and personalities of the band and wrote the first story. The two primary inspirations for the characters are Dan DeCarlo's comic strip "Josie and the Pussycats" and George Miller's "Mad Max" movies. Characters[edit]Mandy Mandy is the leader of the band, on lead guitar and vocals. She is African-American and dressed in feminine-style military gear. She is outspoken and tough, and can explode with violence if pushed. Megumi Megumi (or simply "Meg") is the drummer. She is from Japan and is possibly the last Japanese girl left on Earth. She speaks entirely in Japanese and her dialogue is subtitled in English. She is dressed in an American-style cowboy outfit. She is sarcastic and surly. Dot Dot is on bass guitar. She is caucasian and dressed in a high school cheerleader uniform with a bomber jacket overtop. She is a stereotypical "dumb blonde" but is friendly to everyone and cheerily optimistic. === Sources ===. http://www.apocalipstix.com/book.html http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/article/457525 http://comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=16763

He was the man behind the mask of creating the train vs the couch fight of 2003. He's 6ft 18 and 1234 oz's. Barnyard Bill once played Playstation 2 for 8 hours straight, without going to the bathroom, he merely went to the bathroom on the floor, pouring one "for the homies." Barnyard has been and will be a legend in Bowling Green, Ohio. Those who know him think of him as a king, and idol. Those who don't only want to be like him. Shereen El Kilany, more commonly known as "Sherry" was born in 1984 to Adel El Kilany (the Son of previous Egyptian Minister of Agriculture Ali El Kilany), and Nairy El Kilany (daughter of a prominent Doctor). Raised in Both the U.S. and Egypt to a multi-National family (Father is Irish/Egyptian, Mother Armenian) she grew up all over the world, specifically in the Washington D.C. area, until her parents saw it time for their two daughters to come back to Egypt and pick up and learn about their Heritage. Living in Cairo, she attended famed and reputable private school Cairo American College (CAC) for her Middle School and High School years, then followed up her Diploma with a Bachelors in Mass Communication at the American University in Cairo. She is currently known as one of Cairo's socialites, who is currently working on her own Events Management company as well as a burgeoning T-shirt Line with a partner. She was recently crowned the "New Face of PR" by Campus magazine for pulling off some of Egypt's hottest summer events, and having brought some of the best entertainment for previous New Years parties. With a growing empire and the backing of her family, Sherry El Kilany seems to be soon taking the Middle East by Storm if not the rest of the world, with her savy networking skills. School and Education[edit]The name of the local primary school in Waiohau is "Te Kura Maori-a-Rohe o Waiohau". Schooling in Waiohau commences everyday at around the same time as a normal school which is 9:00am. It has the normal subjects which any primary school would usually have including English, Maths etc. Although the school is required to follow normal primary school's standards, its main choice of language, or Reo is the old day Maori Reo. Teachers choose to use the Reo to help keep and sustain the old ways of our tipuna. They believe that the only way for someone to learn the Reo, they have to be brought up in it. Although the tamariki in the kura are only 5-11 years old, most, if not all, can now speak the Reo fluently. The kura would not be what it is today if not for the hard work and dedication of one Anitewhatangi Hare, the school's principal. Through her hard work, the school has obtained money from the government to provide new computers, facilities and a brand new 20 million dollar whare to accomidate these things. Along with the new computers, she has also obtained broadband for the school. Sources[edit]202.89.40.113 (talk) 08:30, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]The Harvard Club was founded by a group of 22 Harvard alumni in 1908. The original dues were $5.00 per year, and by the end of the year, more than 1,200 members had joined. The first president, Henry Lee Higginson, was also the founder of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. In 1909, the Club established its first scholarships. One of the first recipients of these scholarships, [[[James Bryant Conant]], went on to become the 23rd president of Harvard. Famous people to have spoken at the Club include Vice President Dick Cheney, Eleanor Roosevelt, Henry Kissinger, William Taft, Robert Frost, Buckminster Fuller and John Foster Dulles.[2] In 1913, the Club decided to construct a clubhouse, the Main Clubhouse at 374 Commonwealth Avenue. In 1925, eight squash courts were built. During World War II, cots were placed in these courts and lodging was offered to military officers at the cost of $1.50 per night. In 1976, the Downtown clubhouse was purchased at One Federal Street, providing a location more convenient to most of Boston's offices. Membership[edit]Membership eligibility is restricted to anyone who has received a degree or honorary degree from Harvard, a full-time student at the university, faculty members, those holding appointments at any of Harvard's teaching hospitals, and children and grandchildren of current members. Dues are on a sliding scale, based on age and proximity to the Club. Like most private clubs, members of the Harvard Club are given reciprocal benefits at 130 clubs around the United States and the world. Clubhouse[edit]The Clubhouse's facilities include three dining rooms, the Grill Room, the Boston Room, and the Commonwealth Lounge, guest rooms, ten squash courts, a fitness center, guest rooms, and numerous function rooms, including Harvard Hall, which has hosted events ranging from prize fights to squash matches[3]. Dress code for dinner in the Boston Room is jacket and tie, but otherwise, the code is business casual. Harvard Club Foundation[edit]The Harvard Club maintains a Foundation, with a separate Board of Directors from the club's Board of Governors, which oversees assets in excess of $10,000,000. The purpose of the Foundation is to support the activities of the University, primarily through providing undergraduate financial aid. The Foundation also supports the University's undergraduate admissions program by hosting receptions for admitted students, as well as sponsoring the PRize Book program. In 2008, the Foundation will donate $510,944 to undergraduate financial aid.[4] Sources[edit]

However, Jeff is not your run-of-the-mill emerging musician. Outside of his musical talent, what also makes Jeff unique is how he began to establish his music career. In a short amount of time, he quickly became a fast rising star in the online vritual world, Second Life[3]. His stellar, breatkthrough performances as musician, Hep Shepherd, in this digital community have helped to build a large and continually growing fanbase. With over 200+ online performances under his belt, Jeff recognizes the impact that starting his career in a virtual world has brought to him. Second Life connects him with tens of thousands of fans, through his online performances. Thankful for the key role these fans have played, he even gave away his song, "Last Goodbye", as a debut single to residents of SL. He is now taking that virtual success of Second Life, into real life. Jeff is currently in the studio, recording his debut full-length album. The album, currently untitled, is scheduled for release in Fall 2008. In addtion to his recording and regular NYC gigs, Jeff recently completed a European tour during summer 2008. Throughout this tour, he played to packed venues in England, Ireland, and Belgium. He also performed Live at The Bedford in London, with the performance being streamed online for the world to watch and listen. An interview and live performance on Radio 1 Brussels[5] also took place before one of his shows in Belgium. Another tour is being scheduled for Fall 2008. Second Life provided an outlet, and Jeff took that as an innovative way to break into the music industry. His success has brought so much attention to SL's music venues, that other musicians are quickly following in his footsteps. More and more musicians are using it as a way to get their music to the masses. It has even brought success and development of music management careers within the virtual world. Jeff is at the forefront of new marketing and promotional methods in the music industry. Jeff Krantz continues to garner a lot of attention from the media due to his groundbreaking success in the virtual world environment. Since late 2007, Jeff has been sought after and covered by several mainstream media outlets, including: Billboard Magazine, Newsweek[6], CNN.com[7] and most recently, The London Metro[8]. All intrigued by his rise to the top of an online community and how it has transitioned to establishing his real world career. His fanbase increasing rapidly, as his real life performances more than meet the expectations of his virtual world fans. Not bad for someone, who a little over a year ago, thought of his writing and singing as a mere hobby. Prior to his emergence into the music industry, Jeff worked a high paying job in NYC real estate. After a very positive response from an impromptu performance in the UK (January 2007), Jeff realized his priorities and made the decision to pursue what mattered most to him...music. Within a couple weeks of his return to NYC, Jeff resigned from his successful job in real estate. Now investing all his time and efforts into his music career. The music of Jeff Krantz, is filled with lyrical insight, memorable melodies, and delivered with heartfelt passion. With his honest and pure music style, he earned a nomination and a finalist spot for Male Artist of the Year from the International Acoustic Music Awards[9]. One of Jeff's own musical influences, Cat Stevens, took the time to write Jeff and had this to say, "I listened to his music with great interest, his lyrics are memorable and clear." Sexism in America Today[edit]===“Our democracy is but a name. We vote. What does that mean? It means that we choose between two bodies of real -- though not avowed -- autocrats. We choose between 'Tweedledum' and 'Tweedledee” said by Eleanor Roosevelt, founder of the UN Association of the United States in 1943, which united the United States with other countries around the world. Eleanor Roosevelt and many other American women have accomplished such attainments and have gone without recognition. But as we have seen when female leaders step up for the presidency, the United States does not openly accept this. When you sit down and think about how many women leaders there are in the world and especially in the US government today, you can probably count all of them on your own two hands, if that. Currently twelve women hold “Head of State” positions in Jamaica, Liberia, Chile, Germany, Sao Tome, Principe, Mozambique, Philippines, Finland, New Zealand, Latvia, and Ireland. But when looking at these charts from the Women Political World Leaders website, many of these women were not apart of the world of politics until the early 1990’s. Seemingly though in the United States; we have yet to see a female proponent for the President until this year with the 2008 Presidential Election. There are senators and other offices in the United States that women hold today, but the sexist society that the United States prevails has not led to any change. With John McCain, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton all in the front running for the Presidential race, seemingly the Democratic Party chose Senator Obama over Senator Clinton. The race was very tight between Obama and Clinton but in the end the Democratic Party chose a male over a female. Hillary Clinton’s 2008 quest for President of the United States was greatly affected by American sexism through her gender, longetivity of authority, and past political history.=== ===As the United States has never had a female run for president before; the Green Party presidential candidate is a woman for 2008, although Hillary Clinton was unable to succeed in the Democratic presidential candidacy. Many wonder why and many speculate why but there is truly many different reasons why, in this paper we are focusing on how sexism has affected her run for the presidency. But of course, Hillary Clinton’s gender as a female has been the source of the problem for her. Although as I listed the many women that do hold “Head of State” positions in other countries, the United States can not allow a woman to hold such power because of the sexist attitude Americans embody. Without the medias’ abundant false reporting in this election much of the sexism has not been seen by the American eye. From an article from New Statesman, that talks about Hillary and why her fight with the sexism of America is as follows, “American men like to delude themselves that they are the most macho in the world” (Stephen 1). Not only is it American men that have this sexist feeling against Hillary, the following statistic from the CNN/ Essence magazine/ Opinion research poll found that, “last month that 76 percent think America is ready for a black man as president, but only 63 percent believe the same of a woman” (Stephen 2). As American women did not find equality till after British women in 1920, when they were given the right to vote, women are still underestimated for whom they are. Women certainly have never been on the same page as men have been, “studies have repeatedly shown that women are seen as ambitious and capable, or likeable-but rarely both” (Stephen 2). When looking up these words that are used in describing women, ambitious is having a desire to achieve a particular goal, and capable is said to be having attributes (as physical or mental power) required for performance or accomplishment. Both words are words of endearment but not words that the people of America would describe male leaders as. Capable and ambitious are words of “hope” and future, not words that are concrete and stable. Only males would be described with stable and concrete, but why is this? Men who present the media also share the sexist attitudes as many other Americans do and is seen in the following from NBC reporters, “Chris Matthews referred to Clinton as a “she-devil”. His colleague Tucker Carlson casually observed that Clinton “feels castrating, overbearing and scary … When she comes on television, I involuntarily cross my legs.” “ (Stephen 2). Men especially see it as being “simply unthinkable” to face the prospect of having a woman as an American leader, but not all men think the same. As I sat down with the mayor of Parker, Mayor Casino who has served many years in Parker, he had many different feelings about females in the government either being at the city, state, or national level. As said by Mayor Casiano during our interview, “ Women in the government is the only way that we will be able to continue to move towards the future, women have many ideas and ways of thinking that men have never thought of,” (Casiano). Our discussion included a lot of stuff ranging from Oprah Winfrey and back to Clinton, but in the end Mayor Casiano was very, very supportive of females being apart of the government. He wouldn’t give me his exact preference on which candidate he thought deserved the presidency but this conversation gave hope to the endless sexism in America. Gender is yet another division of people, that makes human beings different, just like racism with being either African American or White, or being Islamic or Christian, we still are all capable human beings. The American community saw the gender of Hillary Clinton as a female and automatically assumed assumptions about her although she has very high credentials behind her. Gender affected the 2008 Presidential election and the possibility of Hillary Clinton becoming America’s first female president, but hopefully this has not ill-fated her future in politics.=== ===When some hear Hillary Clinton’s name they think that she is just merely “one of those” first ladies that served from 1993 to 2001. Her longevity of authority is simply not just being the First Lady of the United States for the 42nd President, Bill Clinton. She has many, many accomplishments that other presidential candidates don’t have. Starting at a young age, she was the first student to deliver the commencement address at Wellesley College. After graduating, she embarked on a law degree and graduated from Yale Law School in 1973. She continued on as a Congressional legal counsel, and this was interrupted by her marriage to Bill Clinton in 1975. After moving to Arkansas she was named the first female partner at Rose Law Firm in 1979 and was listed twice as one of the one hundred most influential lawyers in America. As Bill Clinton was elected as governor of Arkansas she then served as First Lady of Arkansas from 1979 to 1981, 1983, and 1992. During this time she was also active in a number of organizations concerned with child welfare, as well as sitting on the boards of Wal-Mart and several other corporations. A comment said by Democratic Presidential Candidate, Barack Obama is as follows, “ “While I was working in the streets,” he scolded her.” … you were a corporate lawyer sitting on the board of Wal-Mart” “ (Stephen 3). Hillary Clinton has a very vibrant past in politics and seemingly is very well educated, but is underestimated because of the sexist attitude of America. Obama commented on the fact that Clinton was affluently successful in her political career way before Obama was able to begin his own. Although he has built his campaign on the fact that he has “worked” with the people, and knows what the people are going through, he seemingly bashed his own party candidate for her triumphant past. Does Obama exemplify the sexist attitude of Americans? The general American public is not as educated as it should be on the candidates’ backgrounds, if people would actually look into the past of each candidate, some might change their minds on whom they might vote for. Hillary has a very successful history behind her but her past was overlooked by the media because of Clinton’s gender and America’s sexist attitude. People and the media were more interested in the “bad” things than truly looking at what type of leader Clinton has became over the years. From an article from The New Republic magazine, the following was quoted, “I don’t think anybody in America doesn’t think she can do the job. What they’re dieing for is to know a little bit more about her. And we were unable to present that side of her” (Cottle 3). Simply Clinton was unable to show her background and show her longevity of authority, if people were able to research and look at her past versus what the media creates during elections, Hillary’s chance could have been greatly increased. Hillary was unable to focus on her background of achievements and this hurt her because people were taking the “judge a book by the cover” type of action, versus actually “reading the book”. Quoted again from an article in The New Republic magazine about Clinton, “The Senator is as loyal as she is smart” (Cottle 3). Although she might be just worth $34.9 million dollars and the former First Lady of the United States, people should have actually went beyond viewing her as a capable female presidential nominee and instead viewed her as a accomplished female politician, lawyer, activist, and senator.=== ===As Clinton served as the Senator of New York, she was ridiculed and put down when the state of her marriage to Bill Clinton was the subject of considerable public discussion following the Lewinsky scandal in 1998. Before the scandal of her husband she was very, very active as the First Lady. Her political passions while in the White House included her major initiative, the Clinton health care plan, which did fail to gain approval from the Congress in 1994, caused by the majority of Republicans in Congress. In 1997 and 1999, Clinton advocated for the establishment of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, the Adoption and Safe Families Act, and the Foster Care Independence Act. She was very involved in the “family realm” and was worried about the American family, and its health and morale in America. Soon after she was the only First Lady to be subpoenaed, testifying before a federal grand jury as a consequence of the Whitewater controversy. But soon after the Clintons left the White House, Hillary began her own political pathway that was soon put Hillary on the political stage more than when living in the White House. The move from the White House to New York, lead to Clinton being elected as senator for New York state in 2000, marking the first time an American First Lady had run for public office; Clinton was also the first female senator to represent New York. In 2006, Clinton presented a speech on the floor of Senate during the debate on the Military Commissions Act of 2006, which gave the president the most radical expansion of power in American history. She said the following in article titled “Hillary Clinton Wakes Up”, “From my family’s perspective, I know something about what can happen to the rights of Americans when the executive overreaches in a time of war” (Hentoff 2). The article continues on to talk about how President George Bush was very impressed with Clinton’s speech and believed that she had brought up many good points that persuaded the Senate. In the Senate, she intitally supported the George W. Bush administration on some foreign policy issues, which included voting for the Iraq War Resolution. She then did oppose the administration on its conduct of war in Iraq, and has continued to oppose it on most domestic issues. In New York, she was then reelected by a wide margin in 2006. Finally in the 2008 presidential nomination race, Clinton won more primaries and delegates than any other women in US history, but after a long campaign for Presidency she was beat by Senator Barack Obama who became the Democratic Presidential nominee. Once again the public eye and media has diminished this female candidates chances through the American sexist attitudes. The political history that Clinton holds with her could most likely out run others that were in the run for the presidential candidacy, but the sexist minds that American’s have creates a roadblock for females. The inability to learn about the actual person the candidates are; creates a false mask on the candidates and has lead to Clinton not finding her way to the Democratic Party Presidential Candidate nomination.=== ===Hillary Clinton is not just the woman we saw in the White House for many years, she is a woman of dignity and knowledge. The media and the sexist attitude of American’s today created the downfall for Hillary’s quest for the 2008 Presidential Election. Hillary Clinton’s 2008 quest for President of the United States was greatly affected by sexism through her gender, longevity of authority, and past political history. The media sometimes can seem like a good thing because it does provide us with information that we might not otherwise know but on the negative side the media creates images that masks the real and triggers America’s sexist attitude. Clinton was masked by the media throughout the 2008 Presidential Nominating Race of 2008, if the public was able to see past her gender as a female, notice her time in politics, and see what major impacts she has made in the government today as female there might have been a different outcome in the Democratic nomination. But until Americans are able to look past their sexist attitudes, we will not be changing the future. “Cautious, careful people, always casting about to preserve their reputation and social standing, never can bring about reform. Those who are really in earnest must be willing to be anything or nothing in the world’s estimation, and publicly and privately, in season and out, avow their sympathy with despised and persecuted ideas and their advocates, and beat the consequences”-Susan B. Anthony.=== Sources[edit]Hentoff, Nat. "Hillary Clinton Wakes Up." Fester Winchester, CEO In the 1980’s, Fester Winchester acted as the mouth to the American consciousness. He fought for issues like the Guns Under Every Pillow initiative and campaigned tirelessly for Ronald Reagan. After being escorted under armed guard from the White House for getting into a fist fight with Nancy Reagan, Winchester turned his attention to the money pit known as computer technologies. His introduction of the interweb was originally intended to sell books and tonics to the perpetually insecure American population. Winchester then noticed the popularity of games. Following research into how little he would need to pay desperate game designers, Winchester created Smashworx the very next day to continue, in his own words, “feeding the mindless their useless dribble.” Fester Winchester comes to the office daily, if just to terrorize the interns and keep the game designers from looking for alternate employers. Winchester is the inspiration for all the games produced at Smashworx. He is the author of two books, Democrats: The Pussy Politics and Don’t Ask, You’re Wrong and is currently working on an spoken word album that imbues his All-American lifestyle. If you want to make changes and try again, copy and paste your article into a new submission and make your changes there. After brief negotiations in early 1987, Nervous Records offered to release the band¹s debut album, Ein Bier Bitte. A huge European tour was organised to promote the release, and both the tour and the album were huge successes. Everything was going well until February 1988 when Dave Ward¹s untimely departure left the band singer-less. That was until Humungus, the band¹s guitarist, stepped forward and found that his vocal talents and stage presence made him the ideal front-man for the band. So impressed were Link Records - a hugely successful alternative label - that a new record deal was offered and A Fistful of Burgers, the band¹s second studio album, was released at the end of 1988. A steady flow of gigs continued, mainly on the continent, until 1989 when Gra left to concentrate on his metal band. A replacement was found in the form of Scott ŒMad Man¹ Milsom, a young double bass player. This gave the band a new lease of life and a totally new sound. This really was a period of changing band members. Smurf left to play in a Ska band and was replaced by Fraddy for a short period during which Live & Rockin was recorded and released on Link Records at the end of 1989. Gigs continued, but a day before a major German festival Fraddy rang the other band members to say he couldn¹t play the gig. There was only one answer: Nasser Bouzida, drummer of the popular SKA band The Loafers and long-time friend of Scott, was recruited. Nasser learned the set by listening to the band on his personal stereo on the journey to the festival. Against all odds, it proved to be one the band¹s best concerts ever! With Nasser still on drums, the band returned to Nervous Records to record their fourth and definitely best album so far, Who¹s He? The album was released in 1991 to universal acclaim. This led to a huge tour of Europe and the band becoming a headline act at several festivals. The band continued gigging for a couple of years until 1993 when, although never officially splitting up, Humungus and Scott became heavily involved in other projects for a few years. You can¹t keep a good thing down for long and 1996 saw the return of band with a vengeance. ŒGrandpa¹ Neil Fisher joined on drums and Scott switched to electric bass. Europe was now more eager than ever to see the band perform, and gigs flooded in. Nasser then returned briefly in 1997 and a brand new album, Wreckers Yard, was released on the up and coming Greystone Records. Nasser was busy in other bands so Pip joined on drums for live shows to promote the album. Again, regular live dates in mainland Europe followed until 2001 when another new album was recorded. Their sixth album was titled Out For The Weekend and again featured Nasser, who was prised away from his own projects. Mad Man Scott played both electric and double bass. A wide range of musical influences led to an eclectic mix of styles yet all with the Coffin Nails unmistakable trademarks of high energy and humour. Now, with Clive Cornwall on drums, a European tour was organised at the end of 2001. The album was officially released on Greystone in the spring of 2002. With founder member Humungus, Mad Man Scott (bass player for over 14 years), and their new drummer Clive, the bands line up finally seemed settled. The Coffin Nails early albums had brought them gigs all across Europe, but these albums had also sold well in Japan and the USA. Increasingly there were demands for new material, particularly from the growing scene in America. So in 2003, the band went back into the studio and Hard as Nails was recorded and released, again on Greystone Records. This album saw the band returning somewhat to its roots. The album is in places darker and faster than ever before, whilst retaining the touches of humour that the band has become synonymous with. History[edit]In 2002, UniquePhones was the first company to offer instant unlocking services online. This service was mainly for Nokia handsets, with a reported 25,000 handsets being unlocked per day. This service ended in 2005. In mid-August, UniquePhones announced an unlocking service for the iPhone, only to retract this service the following week after receiving a phone call from a lawyer representing AT&T[10]. Many of the key staff including the co-founder left the company shortly after. UniquePhones unlocks over 10,000 British phones per day. [11] External links[edit]

A wikipedia race is an improvised, internet stratergy game usually played by academics or office workers during breaks or recesses. The game can be played by any number of people but usually is structured as a head to head match. All participants log on to a computer and access the Wikipedia website, from there a starting article and goal article is selected either by means of the random article feature or by an independant body acting as an official. The object of the game is to reach the goal article either by using the least links or in the quickest time the player who accomplishes one or more of these objectives is usually regarded as the winner. Players are only allowed to find the new page by means of clicking the links on articles and by no other way can this be legally achieved (such as using contents etc).
