Comics assessment

[edit]

Thanks for joining the comics assessment team. At the minute I'm really just going through and catching all the untagged articles, I'm not sure what the others are up to. I just re-rated Strangehaven, which you tagged as a stub. It's too long to be a stub article, a stub is usually a paragraph or less, so I bumped it up to a start. Anyway, all the best and if you have any questions about assessing comics articles, feel free to ask. It might be a bit dormant at the minute as we're still trying to get the work groups bedded in and then re-evaluate how we assess. Hiding T 16:33, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You cleaned-up comics assessment

[edit]

Hello! I've just noticed that you spent most of January 29th cleaning up the comics assessment request list. It's not that I don't appreciate it that you dispatched all those requests (as it makes it easier to see the current requests) but I would like to ask you that, in the future, when you delete something off a request list, you remember to put it in the requests archive. People requesting assessments want to be able to see when and if their assessment was processed, and they can't do that if their request is nowhere to be found. Many assessments cause no change to the page the request was made about and thus it becomes impossible to know if and when the assessment was processed without rumaging through the page's history. I've just taken a great deal of my time to put these on the archive and prevent other people the same pain. Again, thanks for your effort, but please try to keep a copy somewhere of what you delete of a request list in the future.

No problem with your edit! :) I may have done a lot of work with the article, but it's as much yours as it is mine. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 02:26, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! All I have is time. Anyways, you might be interested in knowing that you're one of the three editors I voted for. MwNNrules (talk) 02:42, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that! Very much appreciate your vote of confidence. I'm waiting a little longer to see if there will be some kind of extension to the election. It's always a challenge to get people truly involved like that, I guess. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 02:45, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Glad you saw. I thought more people would've voted by now, but whatever. Initially I was also surprised that only five people ran in the first place. I myself considered running, but didn't (still don't) feel experienced enough. MwNNrules (talk) 03:10, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Italics enquiry

[edit]

Hi there. I didn't know where it came from, but as I understood in standard English practice all short story titles, articles etc. appear with quotations; and novels, paintings ect. are italized. I just checked the Italic type article which confirms this. Short stories ect. are given quotation marks because they generally appear within something else, like a collection or album. So it would be like:

  • "The Jaunt" was featured in Skeleton Crew, or;
  • "Lack of Comprehension" appeared on the album Human, by Death.

Dark Tower WP discussion

[edit]

Greetings Dark Tower WikiProject member, I would like to invite you to palaver about a possible expansion of the Dark Tower Project to include all Stephen King related items. I feel that the large amount of projects related to the author warrants his own Project—but as this one already exists—hesitate to begin a new one. Please feel free to leave comments of any kind and be assured that The Dark Tower will be held in the highest regard within the new King Project. Long days and pleasant nights. WP:FILMS Questionnaire

[edit]

As a member of WikiProject Films, you are invited to take part in the project's first questionnaire. It is intended to gauge your participation and views on the project. At the conclusion of the questionnaire, the project's coordinators will use the gathered feedback to find new ways to improve the project and reach out to potential members. The results of the questionnaire will be published in next month's newsletter. If you know of any editors who have edited film articles in the past, please invite them to take part in the questionnaire. Please stop by and take a few minutes to answer the questions so that we can continue to improve our project. Happy editing!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
