Frederic (Eric) Gerald Smith (born september 22, 1992 in Beaufort, South Carolina[2]), better known by his ring name Eric Impact, is a American professional wrestler currently signed to TWA PRO WRESTLING wrestling as a heel, however he is currently inactive due to a legitimate Knee injury .[3]

Smith initially rose through the ranks as one half of the tag team The New Revolution, alongside his real-life best friend and storyline brother Damian Johnson. He is noted for being one of the most high flying heavyweights in the indy circuit, smith has had a number of injurys due to his high flying style.[4]

Early career

[edit]

Between 2004 and 2005 smith wrestled in JCW wrestling but was only succesfull at gaining only one title therfore being fired after only three months smith wrestled for many independent promotions in North Carolina as well in the South Carolina under the name PITT BULL and would go on to become a part of the successful tag team Sex and Violence with Joe Legend. During , Sex and Violence became part of a larger stable known as Thug Life, made up of Legend, Hardcastle, childhood friend Damian Johnson, Bloody Bill Skullion, and Rhino Richards. In his indy career, he won the SSW Tag Title and the JCW Street Fight Tag Title twice with Cage, in addition to his reign as ICW/MWCW Midwest Unified Tag Title holder alongside Joe.

The duo of smith and Johnson was known as Hard Impact before changing their name to The Suicide Brothers. In 2005, the duo worked in the carolinas under the name the The New Revolution [5]. Smith also once wrestled under the name Damon Striker (although Smith writes it as Damien Stryker in his book)[6] on an edition of UWF PRO against Meng and Kevin Sullivan. In his autobiography, Smith claims that he wrestled for UWF only once and solely for the money, and that it was his worst gimmick to date. According to Smith, he and Terry Richards are the only people that remember that he wrestled for UWF at all.

TWA 2006 PRESENT

[edit]

In 2006 SMITH was signed by the TWA a development promotion for CWA PRO WRESTLING and made his television debut on the June 22 episode of CWA Exposed as Eric Impact, a loner character who entered the arena through the crowd for his matches. His first character persona was that he would walk around the city streets aimlessly and beat up defenseless bystanders. His first televised match was against Jose Estrada, Jr. and ended prematurely, by countout, when Impact performed a somersault senton from the ring to the outside, legitimately injuring Estrada's neck.[7]In a match against Josh Magnum smith was going for a elbow drop off the top rope but sliped causing him to tear his ACL Smith is currently heeling from the injury but has stated that he will make his return to CWA as soon as he gets the goahead from docters when he return he has also stated that he will return as a face instead of a heel

In wrestling

[edit]
  • Theme music
    • Eric's current CWA entrance music is I don't wanna stop by Ozzy Osborne. During 2001-2003 it was Never Gonna Stop (The Red, Red Kroovy) by Rob Zombie and before that he used two pieces of CWA produced production music entitled You Think You Know Me and On the Edge. Since You Think You Know Me, all of his theme music has been preceded by the eponymous phrase from that song, including the Burn In My Light/Metalingus combination used for Rated-RKO.
