There is Toyota in Busch

[edit]
  • There are no real life Toyota drivers in the National Series (Busch Series), however, one of the fictional cars, car #107, is a Toyota.

This is false the #38 of Jason Leffler is a Toyota in real life as well as a few other cars in the series!

That is known but in NASCAR 08 there is no real Toyota team in the game. If you read it carefully you would have understood what it said. 22:17, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Australian Release

[edit]

I Changed it to the 23rd because on Ebgames.com.au it states its coming out on the 23rd http://ebgames.com.au/ps3/product.cfm?ID=7396 so please leave it.Taylor21 12:55, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why was the Australian Release Date Removed? Taylor21 06:59, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fucking hell man im so impatient with the release on the 360 i called EB game today and im so fucking annoyed.  Taylor21  23:37, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Various changes

[edit]

I went through and made a few changes to this article. For one, I went through and changed all of the PS3 and PS2 abbreviations to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 respectively. I think the names spelled out are far more appropriate and professional as no everyone maybe know what PS3/PS2 means. I also went through and changed all instances of XBOX 360 to Xbox 360 and Playstation to PlayStation. Minor stuff, but important. --IndigoAK200 17:38, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If they're looking up the NASCAR 08 video game, I'm pretty confident they know what PS2/PS3 means.--72.24.207.77 (talk) 16:00, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Paint Schemes

[edit]

I recently looked at the driver chart and I noticed that there are two missing paint schemes. The first one is Jeff Burton's Lenox Industrial Tools scheme, but it can only be used by using the COT. Do you think this is a good way to put it on the chart: Lenox Industrial Tools (COT Only)? The second one is the second variation of Greg Biffle's 3M/Ameriquest scheme. In the game, the second version has Las Vegas, in reference to where it was raced at, at the end of its title. Also, I remembered that the fisrt version was raced Texas. Is ok if I put it twice on the chart with Texas and Las Vegas in parentheses?

Kinser

[edit]

I am going to find the number and sponsor of Kinsers truck and put him with the real drivers since he is one. Fisha695 02:11, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've found out the number and sponsor. It's the number 134 Courtesy Coils Truck. I keep putting it back up after somebody takes it down. CEfanDP99 17:28, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah that would be me, it's still a fantasy truck so it shouldn't be on the real truck list. How do you know it wasn't a programming error and they accidentally put Kinser's name in? The list should only be used for real trucks that were included in the game. - KaseyKahneFan 17:45, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah it may be a fantasy truck but he's still in the game. CEfanDP99 18:02, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He should be on that list. It is a list of REAL DRIVERS and Kinser is a REAL CTS DRIVER. I will put him back on the list and anybody that takes him off will be warned for vandilism. Fisha695 19:48, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not to worried about being warned for "vandilism", but I would like to have some more opinions from other editors about taking him off or leaving him in. I removed the link to Courtesy Coils its clearly a made up sponsor and moved some of the notes to their appropriate places. - KaseyKahneFan 20:49, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fantasy Tracks

[edit]

The fantasy tracks are not included in the PS3 version, could someone with the XBOX 360 or PS2 versions confirm that they do or do not exist? Thanks Mawfive 17:18, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can't vouch for the Xbox 360, but I am certain they are in the PS2 version. Mearnhardtfan 23:20, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I will add a disclaimer to the section telling that they are only in the PS2 version, not PS3 or XBOX 360.Mawfive 03:21, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

they will most likely be added through D/L contentRaceFan48 18:59, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aric Almirola

[edit]

Aric Almirola is in the Xbox 360 version of the game (Lakers244805 22:55, 29 July 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Why

[edit]

Why in every Nascar game there are no alcohol sponsors? Clonetroop125

Well first...its illegal to market alcohol to kids. And if they did put alcohol sponsors in the game it would probably get a Mature rating, and younger kids wouldn't be able to purchase the game without an adult. If you want alcohol sponsors get NASCAR Racing 2003 Season for the PC, best game ever and you can download cars for it. - KaseyKahneFan 20:47, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

    • It would not be M-rated just for that. Oh well though, it doesnt matter. Clonetroop125
      • But hey, its not SELLING alcohol to kids, its just showing the logos to kids. DO YOU SEE MY POINT???? xp HIYO
That's considered advertisement... Mearnhardtfan 03:14, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
so?HIYO
So they can't legally advertise alcoholic products to minors, which they would be doing by putting those sponsors in a game rated anything below M. Mearnhardtfan 18:38, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
DO you really think parents would let a kid would buy beer? HIYO —The preceding signed but undated comment was added at 01:50, August 21, 2007 (UTC).

IRP/ORP

[edit]

Is this track really in the game? It is not in the PS2 version unless it is an Unlockable chaseplate. Can someone confirm that this track is really in the game and also note what system it is on. Fisha695 23:28, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So far I have not seen this track in the game. I checked the Chase Plates and did not see it there. I don't know if there would be a cheat code to get it but I don't think so. CEfanDP99 17:26, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

its not on next gen either btw im RaceFan0844 from EA Forums Fisha, CEfan RaceFan48

Nazareth Speedway

[edit]

Anyone else think Nazareth Speedway should be moved to the fantasy tracks section since it really isn't even used anymore in real life? - KaseyKahneFan 20:10, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd leave it where it is, since the track itself is a real venue. Mearnhardtfan 19:34, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The track may not be used anymore, but it is a real track (Matter of fact I drove by it today) Really Nazareth in the game should be listed as a Historic track, since it kinda is. Also its not really right to have it labled as a Busch/Truck track because in the game all 4 series can race their. So as I typed this I decided that I'll rename it to a Historical track since thats what it now is in real life. Fisha695 04:04, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

D Pad or Analog stick

[edit]

In this game are you alowed to use the d pad or do you have to use the Analog stick?

I can't speak for the PS3 and Xbox 360 version, but in the PS2 version you can choose. Mearnhardtfan 04:12, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No D-Pad in Next gen RaceFan48 20:22, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Earn Your Stripes Mode

[edit]

Question. Is Earn Your Stripes Mode in all 3 games? I only have the PlayStation 2 version but I figure EA Sports put them in all 3, can someone confirm this? - KaseyKahneFan 22:24, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To my understanding, it is PS2 exclusive. Mearnhardtfan 22:30, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Earn Your Strips Mode is only in the PS2 version. The Xbox 360 and PS3 have the Chase Mode. CEfanDP99 12:18, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Drivers List

[edit]

I've noticed that there's a bit of an edit war going on with the list of drivers in the game and how they should be displayed. The whole thing is also ignoring the three revert rule. Perhaps we should discuss these edits on the talk page instead of pointlessly changing it back and forth between the two formats, knowing that another person will just change it back?

Personally, I think drivers such as Ken Schrader and Jon Wood, who are listed separately in the game should be listed separately on the list. On the other hand, cars who have different drivers in different versions of the game should stay combined. Mearnhardtfan 05:50, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think KaseyKahneFan is finally agreeing with me on the driver format. 70.246.95.155 04:16, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Final Cover

[edit]

I was wondering if anyone could find the final cover of the game. The final cover shows Stewart doing a burnout in the COT while the current one we have shows the current car and says Rating Pending. The cover on all the gaming sites for some reason don't say "Featuring ESPN" so we can't use that. I will help look too. Thanks. 70.246.95.155 04:12, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I scanned and uploaded my PlayStation 2 cover, it think it looks pretty good for now. KaseyKahneFan 23:21, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I looked at the cover and it looks as thought it is Tony doing a burnout in a Chevy but the COT was generic in the game and Tony didn't win a COT race when the cover was printed. I zoomed in on it and there was a white patch that may be a manafacturer's label can someone confirm that. Hms88amp 16:44, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recption section

[edit]

I removed it because its really an opinion of that poster and not encylopediac. I think maybe instead of that section we should put in a section of what the game is rated by the gaming magazines/websites that rated it. Also maybe put in some quotes as to why it was rated that way, if any are available. Also remember do to the major diffrence between the PS2 version and the Ps360 version it should be noted what system the rating is for. Fisha695 21:10, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cheat Code

[edit]

What is the cheat code for the walmart Racetrack?Mark4life92 17:02, 30 September 2007 (UTC)User Talk:Mark4life92[reply]

Start a new game in Earn Your Stripes Mode and enter "Walmart" as your first name and "EveryDay" as your last name.KaseyKahneFan 17:54, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is this only for The PS2 Version?Mark4life92 23:47, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I believe only the PS2 version has fantasy tracks. CEfanDP99 01:59, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
