Harlow and Rukh seem to be adapting well after having been separated from the tribe for so long. When Harlow gives birth, it really erases all doubt from Rukh just how important being a part of a family (whether by blood or bond) is so vital for survival and thriving.
As always, these short snippets of life after finding love are consistently feel good reads!

Another solid entry in this alien romance series!
As many of these stories have gone, they run parallel to each other, and last we saw Harlow in Barbarian Lover, she was clubbed on the head and dragged off into the wilderness, unbeknownst to her friends.
Consistently, Dixon makes a case for each of her couples, setting up a unique situation, bringing two unlikely people together, always aided by the planet’s symbiont that helps each human and alien form that unbreakable bond.
Here, Harlow discovers she has resonated with her very own personal Tarzan. Rukh has survived on his own for many years, having lost language and people skills, only knowing how to barely get by. The push pull of the language barrier was entertaining and poignant, their challenges away from the tribe harsh, isolating, and yet key to them bonding to the other.
Though I’m only 4 main books in, if this continues to deliver like it has, I foresee myself entertained for a good long while with this series!

This too short intro held my interest, showing just a little bit why Constantine is the way he is. I`m sure there's some tragic sad story behind his ice cold veneer, and I look forward to Devon shattering that and turning Constantine into an ooey gooey mess.
These two get married at the end of this installment but there's loads left to explore! I look forward to it and Brad’s comic relief!...more

I enjoyed this look-see into Viv’s gang, and Fennus is definitely not one to like at all. This ends perfectly as Viv takes her very first sip of coffee and solidifies her future plans!!

I can’t fault Dixon for not only bringing the smexy but also delivering on legitimate fears and longings.
This story focuses on Kira, whose aforementioned fears are well grounded in logic.
So, what happens when a completely alien race, with close to 10 times more males than females, finds out one of the compatible humans may not be able to potentially provide a family, that the implied reciprocity is broken? Who’s to say that they wouldn’t just toss her out of the cave, no longer willing to waste precious effort and resources? Granted, the Khui have been nothing but kind and generous, taking fabulous care of Kira and her companions, but the constant worry and anxiety understandably weighs heavily.
Rest assured, this alien race are the good guys, but you can’t fault Kira’s way of thinking. She doesn't want to lead anyone on, and she doesn’t want to connect with another should he happen to resonate (mate) with someone else down the road.
In stark contrast, Aehako is the complete opposite of Kira. Carefree, optimistic, and blatantly flirty, always with a smile, his personal philosophy is to grab any happiness one can because brutal reality will always take precedence by default. Aehako finds Kira intriguing, his only goal is to take away some of the sadness emanating off of her, and he purposely chooses her despite the lack of the adamant pull of resonance that has yet to surface.
Obviously, I enjoyed the inner conflict of Kira. Aehako (though far from being a slouch) was a breath of fresh air for not being the surly alpha male many of these sorts of stories offer. (view spoiler)[In all honesty, I would’ve loved to have seen Kira and Aehako stay together despite not having the official mate bond, but I appreciated they chose each other before it happened, making their connection that much more sweet! This had a bit of everything - humor, angst, action, and spice - perfect escapism to indulge in!

I love that she's a Star Wars fan, I love that she riles up not only her mate but others as well. I love that she’s blunt and demands communication and honesty when Raahosh’s natural inclination is to hide and go quiet. He’s still in a vulnerable place, but their self imposed honeymoon is just the cure to really solidify their bond and perfect their connection.

A compelling sequel to Dark Rise, this continues with Will and company racing against time and formidable adversaries to stop the Dark King from fulfilling what he set out to do many centuries ago.
This maintains the high stakes atmosphere, where the task set before these characters is nigh impossible to overcome, bringing harsh revelations, answering some questions while posing new ones to take their place. One can’t help but be filled with feelings of anxiety as this desperate crew works against all odds trying to be the very best versions of themselves and saving each other (as well as the entire world) from annihilation.
The parts I appreciate the most were the separate journeys each of these characters go through - painful discoveries and sacrifices that brutally hone their growth even more. Most alluring is the deeply rooted history that Will and James share from their past lives which blends into their current one, providing an inexplicable pull to each other that can’t be dampened or severed. They’re drawn together with a heady intense attraction and inevitable destiny that’s quite intoxicating.
Running parallel is an intricate thoughtful commentary that continues from the first book as Pacat explores good and evil and the many nuances influencing both. There’s reasonable understandable explanations for every character presented, and I definitely look forward to her concluding this smart, high stakes story. The finale can't come soon enough!
Continuing the saga of several women who find themselves rescued by a benevolent alien tribe who are having their own procreation issues, this 4 Stars
Continuing the saga of several women who find themselves rescued by a benevolent alien tribe who are having their own procreation issues, this 2nd installment follows Liz who’s quite the character.
Liz’s decisions for her life have abruptly been taken away from her. First she was abducted for nefarious means and though technically saved, she’s now told she has to have some worm-like creature placed in her in order to survive the toxic atmosphere of the primitive ice planet she’s stuck on. Liz has had it up to here, and she refuses to accept this symbiont, willing to die on her own terms. However, that choice is taken away from her as alien Raahosh forces the symbiont on her as he feels the pull of her being his mate.
The anger and the struggles Liz goes through are totally valid, and her internal dialogue was apt, sarcastic, and spot on. She is the perfectly outrageous, loud, brash personality that complements Raahosh’s quiet broody grumpy (and virgin) self.
If you like your male MC as the classic scarred hero who’s been beat down in life, who knows he’s not the pretty charming guy like his fellow brethren and his only prospect was being forever alone, then this is the one for you.
Dixon delivers the emotions of insecurity and doubt while showcasing how Liz and Raahosh clash and come together. This was both touching and highly entertaining especially regarding the language barrier, where I lost count how many times I laughed and smiled. Reassuringly, this was still smutty, and dare I say even dirtier than the first.
Highly enjoyable erotic MF alien mate trope! I foresee myself indulging in this series to the very end!

If witches and voodoo and rivalries and magic float your boat then consider this your next MM read!
As per the blurb, Keller is basically a foot soldier for the Zayne clan, and when its hated matriarch dies mysteriously, he and the rest of the family are surprised to hear about a long lost son they never knew about. They need this unknown person to unlock the Zayne book of shadows to renew the wards protecting their source of power before the end of the month, or all their enemies will converge together to take over.
Keller thinks this will be an easy zap and grab, but when he encounters Dylan, the young man is inherently protected by outside forces as well as an unpracticed innate skill. These two clash immediately but can’t deny the other’s unique appeal, both dangerous and alluring for different reasons.
As Dylan learns more about his family and his latent necromantic powers the less he wants to know. However, he’s a dangerous uncontrolled powerhouse, and Keller wars with himself, his own personal motives not aligning with Dylan slowly chipping away at his ice cold heart.
I really liked the premise. I liked how magic was portrayed and used in this. I liked the rivalries and the different players and witchy politics. However, there was just a slight disconnect for me regarding the romance. Keller was intriguing and dark and his redemption was oh so easy and neat. Dylan was a ray of sunshine but often, his reactions and actions were just a tad too extreme. This is me being nit picky, and I don’t expect other readers to feel the same.
Overall, not a favorite of this author’s, but I will say Bauer continues to entertain with being varied in her tropes and her genres which I wholly appreciate. I look forward to her next creation!...more

As per the blurb, Rhoren is trying to figure out what to do with the second half of his life. He’s now a retired elven mage having served his country ridding it of horrible destructive beasts with his powerful blood magic. However, using his powers has paid a price, and Rhoren lives in constant chronic pain. When he’s told that a warmer climate may ease his aches, he heads south where he settles in, using up his savings to open up his long dead father’s dream - a tavern to showcase the wonderful drinks said father had experienced on his travels. What Rhoren needs is a partner to jumpstart this venture and who else but the kindly bartender at the upscale inn Kallum would fit the bill perfectly.
Look, like Legends & Lattes, this is not going to break any barriers. This is labeled cozy fantasy for a reason. Slow and steady, reading about the day ins and outs of Rhoren and how he settles into his retirement as he faces some challenges and accomplishes many wins is what this is all about. There’s a bit of inner turmoil as blood mages have a certain reputation, and a little mystery surrounds the possibility that the tavern is haunted, including another monster battle at the end, but nothing was too scary or anxiety inducing or angsty.
Overall, like the popular aforementioned cozy fantasy, this is about second chances and living one’s best life by taking some risks to find love and found family. If that is your thing and you don’t mind a sedate easy read with PLENTY of cocktail descriptions (along with imbibing them), then this isn’t a difficult decision to make at all....more

An overall MF win!
I’ll be honest. Even though I’ve read more MF this year than I have in ages, it’s rare to find that perfect mix of heady hero and no frills heroine. The last thing I want is to spend several hours in the headspace of another neurotic woman who’s too afraid of a relationship because she’s got a deep rooted fear of abandonment (no matter how reasonable and understandable), but often, that is a common theme in many of these sorts of stories, and this was no different.
So, this starts with Stella with the aforementioned issue and in an effort to save her failing farm, she lies on her application for a monetary contest that she and her bestie fell in love and bought the place together. Her reasoning is that the social media guru running this contest always seems to favor a romantic angle, hence the “lie”. When Stella propositions Luka with clear adamant reassurance that this won’t ruin their friendship, he says yes to a week of subterfuge where they’re free to indulge in each other with no awkwardness or restrictions.
Unsurprisingly, as most MF stories go, Luka is a dreamy dreamboat. He’s perfect - caring, kind, intuitive, handsome, and oh so sexy. Stella is your classic internally rambly character that is trying to hide her feelings so things can continue like they always have so she can feel safe in the sure and steady. These two have been pining for each other for ten years. Yes. Ten years.
Of course, Stella freaks, but thankfully, the drama isn’t protracted, and Luka is an absolute saint. Points for the charming small town atmosphere, romanticized farm life, and a supporting cast that was quite engaging (and who will get their own HEA’s in this series).
If this fits your requirements of a romance - friends to lovers, quasi fake dating, a good amount of spice - I don’t think this will fail you. Despite my complaints, I’m going to continue this series in the hopes that future stories will deliver more than the usual hangups.

These days, contemporary MM doesn’t hold as big a lure for me as it once did. In my old age, I like to avoid angst and miscommunication and running away from one’s issues/problems. Thankfully, none of that was here.
Scott is world weary, cynical, and people avoidant. All he wants is to bake his confections with little fuss and to basically be left alone. Who knew comforting the exact type of person he tries to avoid at all costs - a chatty beam of sunlight - on a transatlantic flight would be the chance encounter that would change his life. In contrast, Theo is in a major life transition, trying to take the safe route instead of cultivating his creative strengths. Lucky him that a surly sexy baker is just the push he needs to reconsider his plan.
My return to Hayes’s recent releases has been a surprising success. The characters were drawn well, their insecurities valid, and the chemistry was on point. So if you want a really easy opposites attract, grumpy sunshine, age gap romance that was full of banter and sexy, with a bit of hurt comfort and some yummy feels then this is for you!
