I am a senior research associate at the Institute of Geography at Kiel University, funded through the Cluster of Excellence "Future Ocean" in Kiel, Germany. I aim to analyze and understand human-environment interactions in coastal and marine areas and their implications for sustainable development. Conceptualizing sustainability of coastal regions and assessing sustainable development through indicators and frameworks is a major topic of my current research, which is closely linked to the UN's newly adopted Sustainable Development Goals.
