General Electric is a big and multinational company based in the United States. It was created in 1892 by Thomas Edison through merging several companies that initially made electrical things. In the middle 20th century it became a major maker of turbojet engines and now makes many things.

As of 2008, they are the third biggest company in the world.[2] In May 2020, it sold its light bulb business. [3]
