Heirhein finally took up arms, did they...? Brilliant, we're right on schedule. Let the bandits loose on the villages. We pretty much have free reign now that Chagall has taken the throne. Strip the villages of all valuables and return them to the castle!”
—Macbeth

Macbeth is an enemy character from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. He is the leader of the town of Anphony in Agustria.

Profile[]

When Heirhein runs into a conflict with Sigurd's army, Macbeth seizes the opportunity, and releases several bandits out into the eastern village area, intending for them to loot the villages found in said vicinity. Chagall later berates him for his greed, and pushes the responsibility of the deaths of Elliot and Boldor onto Macbeth. Macbeth later sends Voltz and Beowolf out onto the battlefield. His plan ultimately fails, as Sigurd's army defeats Voltz and convinces Beowolf to join its ranks. Macbeth will eventually fall.

Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

Macbeth's Defense stat is ludicrously high, his HP is impressive, and his access to Great Shield makes him all the more durable, but his resistance is no greater than that of any other general. If the player is willing to wait a few turns, then the player can send Lewyn or a unit armed with the Armorslayer (which can be obtained from one of the villages) to deal with Macbeth. If the player is going for a low turncount, however, they can instead rely on the sheer might of high-strength attackers such as Sigurd, Lex, and Quan to whittle away at his HP.

Quotes[]

“Grannvale's here? It can't be... What do those mercenaries think I'm paying them for!? Ooh... It looks like I'll have to settle this myself!!”
—Macbeth's battle quote
“Why me... Umph...”
—Macbeth's death quote

Etymology[]

Macbeth is the main character and antihero of William Shakespeare's play, The Tragedy of Macbeth. He is the General of King Duncan, and later King of Scotland.

Trivia[]

  • Macbeth, along with Lamia and Ovo, is one of the only enemies in the game whose portrait is never reused.
