The King is an enemy-only combat physical class that is exclusive to The Binding Blade. The personal class of King Zephiel of Bern, the King class wields Swords as its sole weapon of choice.
History in the Series[]
The King class first appears in the series in The Binding Blade, where it very evidently draws inspiration from the Emperor class that appears in earlier titles that include Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem and Genealogy of the Holy War, owing to the fact that it functions as the personal class of the antagonistic ruler of a hostile country.
The re-hauled design of the Emperor class in New Mystery of the Emblem appears to be very much influenced by the King class in terms of appearance, where both can be observed to don rather elegant, stately robes that are befitting of their positions as the overlords of their respective realms. The key difference between the two is the type of weapons they wield; while the Emperor class is armed with Lances, the King class is confined to solely using Swords.

Trivia[]
- Although the Eckesachs is strictly bound to Zephiel and not to the King class specifically, the class's battle model features the weapon as an integral part of its design.
- Although it is not actually demonstrated in-game, it is interesting to note that Zephiel appears as a Prince in the prequel, The Blazing Blade; between this game and The Binding Blade, Zephiel theoretically promoted into a King.
