July
[edit]Well, we've already got 10 musicals on the table. I suggest that we use July to discuss those. -- Ssilvers 02:26, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- The COTM is more geared twards a stub or start-class article, the 10 on the table would remain on the table, but this would be a stub-or start class. As of right now, there are no suggestions, so if there isn't one by july, then we'll wait till the end of june to pick one but if there is, we might as well get this section started :-D. --omtay38 03:09, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Something is wrong with the formatting and sidebars, no? Do we need the sidebars on this page? Wouldn't a link to the main project page be simpler, and then people can access the sidebars there. -- Ssilvers 17:03, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
- From my computer (Safari 3 on a mac) the sidebar looks fine. One of the purposes of the sidebar was to be able to put it on the subpages as sort of a "shortcut location". What's displaying wrong with the sidebars from where you are? --omtay38 19:25, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
It pushes down the instructions on how to nominate an article, instead of being to the right of it. I'm using Internet Explorer. -- Ssilvers 06:04, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Rolling nominations
[edit]As stated, I'm rolling the choosing of a COTM till the end of July because of the lack of nominations and/or supports (maybe things will have wound down by then :-D ) Cheers! --omtay38 06:19, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
August
[edit]OK, now that we've all nominated our pet peeves, how are we going to arrive at a decision? -- Ssilvers 12:54, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- I was thinking the same thing. Let me just say this in terms of where our focus should be: I know that everyone wants to get some articles to FA, that's because we're actors who crave applause. Into the Woods, Little Shop, etc. are in good shape compared to, say, Isabel's a Jezebel. Or the massive amount of redlinks and stubs we have. We have to build a foundation before we build a roof. — MusicMaker5376 20:37, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- Ah well, i guess we'll roll one more month. Any objections, lemmie know. --omtay38 23:24, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- It might not be a bad idea to put off the COTM until we have a few more participants.... — MusicMaker5376 00:11, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
COTM for Sept.
[edit]OK, we had three votes for a topic. How shall we begin. Should we send a message to all the active members? -- Ssilvers 19:41, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
COTM - progress
[edit]I thought it'd be good to have a place where we can comment on our current 'projects' or progress for the COTM. I haven't had as much time to work as I'd like but I did add some to Alan Menken and Anna Karenina (musical). Crystallina 02:11, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

- I worked on A Trip to Chinatown, Alive and Kicking, Adele (musical), A Gaiety Girl, A Broadway Musical, Ace (musical), Alice in Wonderland (musical) and (with User:Broadwaygal) Alice Ripley and Alice Nielsen. I upgraded some of these to "start". I also just added to Alan Menken and upgraded him. Karenina is almost a Start. Can you beef up the synopsis just a little?
- User:JeanColumbia did a wonderful job upgrading Amour (musical), A Class Act, and A Joyful Noise. Hope I didn't forget any. -- Ssilvers 04:19, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I don't know enough about Anna Karenina to work on the synopsis offhand (besides, it wouldn't be sourced that way) but if I get some free time this weekend I'll try to look around for sources. Crystallina 06:41, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Jean and I worked on As Thousands Cheer. It still needs an image. Can anyone add one? -- Ssilvers 16:30, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yes. AND--I cropped it! JeanColumbia 17:00, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
I worked on A Family Affair, A Catered Affair and At Home Abroad, but all of these need more work. -- Ssilvers 06:14, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- A Year With Frog and Toad needs a plot, perhaps some mention of the costumes (?), otherwise it has most of the technical (easy) stuff. I think "A Catered Affair" might need to wait until some thoughtful person puts a song list and other details from the tryouts on-line somewhere. I suppose I could pick out some songs based on Harvey's blog, but that's a bit iffy, I think. JeanColumbia 12:34, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
I agree-no reason to rush A Catered Affair. I added a plot synopsis for Frog and Toad. -- Ssilvers 13:31, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- I added to A Slice of Saturday Night, At the Drop of a Hat and Ain't Supposed to Die a Natural Death. -- Ssilvers 20:13, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
- Natural Death had a broken link to a TimeOut article, so I removed it. It also includes a few statements that are not substantiated, so I cited them. I also added missing blue links and removed duplicate blue links (isn't one per article supposed to be sufficient?) ConoscoTutto 18:28, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. The TimeOut feature article is apparently temporarily down. It contains information from an interview with Van Peebles and accounts for some of the information. Hopefully, it will be back up presently. I also added references for the other pieces of information where you added the fact tags. -- Ssilvers 19:11, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- I added a couple of comments at [1]. Thank you. ConoscoTutto 19:42, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
I worked on Ada Reeve, and Jean and I worked on Animal Crackers (musical). Jean also worked on A Connecticut Yankee. -- Ssilvers 12:57, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
I worked on Afgar and Archibald Thomas Pechey today. Also, Broadwaygal and I worked on Ambassador (musical) -- Ssilvers 21:08, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
I worked on Amen Corner (musical) today and did a little work on Abyssinia (musical), which needs more work. -- Ssilvers 16:47, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
I worked on At the Drop of Another Hat and Ashleigh Gray today. Not sure if Gray is notable. -- Ssilvers 20:47, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Back to work
[edit]I, sadly, have recently gone back to work. (Well, sad for WP, not-so-sad for my wallet....) I basically sit behind a computer all day and write e-mails, so I can keep tabs on what goes on, but contributing on any meaningful scale will have to be cut down to a minimum, I'm sorry to say. You might see more from me on the weekends, but I have two weddings over the next two weeks, then after that I'm probably going to start as musical director at a small Methodist church near me, so even weekends will start to get full. I'm still all about the AWB tasks (re-catting and whatnot... as soon as I have a chance to build the next version....), so I'll be around. — MusicMaker5376 21:28, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
