To VivioFateFan Regarding HappyBKK.com article

[edit]
 • Would I be able to change my article to a stub instead? How do I make a stub? Would that still going to mark the stub for a deletion? Thank you in advance. Apiwat150

Hirofumi Hayashi is important. I put up his article to create a crucial link to the Japanese Wiki page about him in the hopes that

1) I will begin to translate and transfer material or simply add new material to the English page

2) Other people will do the same

The page is not insignificant, and it is not spam or vandalism.

Please remove the Speedy Deletion Tag from the Hirofumi Hayashi article immediately. Yaki-gaijin 12:43, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for being so "speedy"! And thanks for adding that nifty "under construction" tag. Yaki-gaijin 12:57, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I had taken quite a while to research the article PSP Blender. I am very upset about the deletion of it, which was for no apparent reasons.. for example, you say that it was because it was advertising, however if you had reviewed it more carefully, you would see that it does not state anything is good on the site.In fact it includes some critism about how the site steals money. I was a victim to the site and had $37 stolen.. I want to provide an awareness about this site, as well as informative facts.

Thanks,I'll try that. --Lahfter 13:02, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for removing PatentCafe Speedy Delete

[edit]

Dear Hirofumi -

My sincere thanks for your consideration.

Regards,

Dear reviewer,

The PatentCafe page was carefully re-crafted to comply with Wikipedia's requirements, and was modeled after http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oqo and AT&T.

It represents factual and verifyable information of importance to the nearly 70,000 links back to it from websites worldwide. PatentCafe is a globally recognized brand that has been serving the intellectual property community longer than most patent related websites have been in existence.

As you will see from the previous thread, the reviewer provided links and acknowledged that this content was well structured and important.

I have made considerable changes to the page, but will again restructure the article following your specific recommendations, but a respectfully ask that you review the content fully to realize that this is not advertising.

Thank you for your kind consideration.--

HNTTMM

[edit]

I've placed a hangon tag on HNTTMM after the article's current author requested time to improve the article. I say let's give him some time to do so, but keep an eye on the article and see if it really does improve or not. The page is almost entirely list-cruft and table-cruft, and the remaining material would not be nearly enough to justify a full article, so my guess is that it will likely be deleted again soon. But I say let's give the guy a chance to assert its notability and improve the content. :) — KieferSkunk (talk) — 19:31, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Scrabulous hoax

[edit]

Hello, I noticed you placed a hoax template on Scrabulous. Did you feel the sources did not justify the claims? Although you may have missed those, as the article was missing a reflist. You've placed a speedy-delete on this subtemplate. The tag says that the subtemplate has no meaningful content. It was placed on the subtemplate one minute after the subtemplate's creation. It took me a further minute to add the meaningful content. It is meaningful but might not seem so as it's just a small part of a somewhat complex whole. If you want to make some sense of this subtemplate take a look here or if you want a more detailed explanation, just ask. Please remove the tag. P.S. I'll be making more subpages of Convert. Jɪmp 07:15, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No worries it'll only take three minutes to recreate it (at least that's how long it took the first time). Jɪmp 07:22, 6 November 2007 (UTC) ... Make that one minute easier the second time 'round. Jɪmp 07:25, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually it seems that you were right after all. I'd meant to create Template:Convert/W but actually created Convert/W. Jɪmp 08:16, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There seem to be issues with Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Haru Kotobakanata and with with AfD link from Nica Bianca - it's red indicating no AfD page has yet been created. Removed request for help notice

[edit]

Hi, I think you misunderstood, the request for help notice on the Cristina Scabbia page concerned the bottom paragraph - about copyright - because the way i read the "helpme" tag was that you put it above the section that needs help, but correct me if I'm wrong. Concering JME article

[edit]

ive never tried to create a page on wikipedia before so im not really suggesting its me who does one for JME, but i think hes a pretty well known and established artist, enough so to have his own wikipedia page.

His single was on rotation on mtv2 and mtv base (UK)

He apparently played at glastonbury

His record label, boy better know, is well established and is a recognised name and brand for a lot of london (especially north)

He is one of the pioneers and best artists of the Grime genre

Has released 4 mixtapes all of which are available to buy in HMV and other countrywide record stores

and Wiley is on his record label and is a close associate of JME's and he has a page and is on pretty much the same level as JME

i think that covers atleast a few of the quota necessary have a page made doesnt it? i think its about time that JME got his own page, if u want any info on the guy il happily provide u with it

really sorry if this is in the wrong place i have totally no idea how any of this works i was just browsing last night and saw there was no JME page so thought id make it —Preceding unsigned comment added by 23jamesdixon (talkcontribs) 16:37, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kaltura speedy deletion

[edit]

Hi,

I added the entry for Kaltura, which you tagged for speedy deletion/ You said that the reason was copyright infringement, but I work at Kaltura, and I wrote the original text on our site and I would like to use it on Wikipedia to explain what Kaltura is.

Can you please remove the speedy deletion tag or explain how I can get this taken care of?

Your signature.

[edit]

I noticed your signature has two links to your userpage, with two diferent colours. The code for your signature looks like this:

<span style="color:green;">VivioFa</span><span style="color:red;">teFan</span> (Talk, Sandbox)

But you can still have the two colours for a link to your userpage, but not have two links and only have one (if you understand what I mean), to shorten it - you could have to code like this:

<font color="green">VivioFa<font color="red">teFan</font> (Talk, Sandbox)

Article: Leet (citing sources)

[edit]

I know that when submitting information, sources must be cited. However, there must be exceptions, especially in the case of the article "Leet." You see, I submitted the information that new derivations of "owned" and "pwned" had surfaced, and I had gotten this information from, of course, online gaming chatbox. Maybe this is a source, but if it can actually be accepted, then I would like to know how to cite a chatbox in a game. Thanks for your help. 10:55PM (PST) 2 December 2007 User: Yctaabpjic

WP:AFC for redirects

[edit]

I'd like to know why it was declined, since none of it falls under WP:NOT.

 • G-BJRT is the unique identifier for the plane involved in the incident.
 • BA5390/BAW5390/Speedbird 5390 are the flight identifiers. If you go to an airport terminal, they are either listed using the IATA airline code plus flight number (BA5390) or the ICAO airline code plus flight number (BAW5390). The callsign plus flight number would be how air traffic control would refer to the flight. British Airways Flight 5390 is referred to by these three codes.
As these sorts of redirects exists for other airline accidents, not appropriate seems like a false reason.
this would also include the Aloha airlines request.

I will refer to your talk page for a response.

Kaltura

[edit]

I am trying to get an article about– Kaltura, Inc – included in Wikipedia, but have run into difficulty, and I’m not sure why my article is being deleted, and is now protected and cannot be created at all.

Kaltura is a NY-based company that was founded in 2006, and provides a technology platform for collaborative rich-media, also known as group-video making. Since its launch, Kaltura was selected as the People’s Choice at the TechCrunch40 leading industry event in San Francisco on September 18, 2007 (http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/09/18/kaltura-wins-spot-as-40th-company-at-techcrunch40/), and the company recently (December 21, 2007) won the People’s Choice award (over 250,000 users participated in voting) in the video sharing category for the Mashable Open Web Awards (http://mashable.com/2007/12/21/open-web-awards-winners/).

Kaltura’s technology powers the Kaltura.com site, where users can create collaborative videos on any topic of their choice, as well as other partner video and social sites that desire to offer collaborative video making capabilities.

Kaltura has recently even created an extension to the media-Wiki platform (it is to be announced very shortly)

Hundreds of thousands of visitors have visited the company’s site – www.kaltura.com - since it’s launch in September 2007. Thousands of musicians, fans, filmmakers and bloggers have embedded Kaltura’s widgets on external sites. For example, many MySpace musicians have created group music videos for their songs and posted the videos as widgets on their MySpace pages for their fans to interact with (see below for a list of sample widgets on MySpace profiles and other sites). In addition, over 200,000 users have added Kaltura’s Facebook applications, based on the company’s technology platform (see applications at http://apps.facebook.com/friendsvideocard/ and http://apps.facebook.com/groupalbum/).

The company was founded by four industry veterans – Ron Yekutiel, CEO, former CEO and co-founder of Destinator Technologies Shay David, CTO, was co-founder of Destinator Technologies Dr. Michal Tsur, President, was co-founder of Cyota (acquired by RSA Security) Eran Etam, VP R&D, was VP R&D of ICQ (acquired by AOL).

Based on the information above, I would like to recreate the article for Kaltura. Please advise how I can go about moving this process along. I am happy to discuss this further and provide any additional information that might be required.

Ye Art Cordially Invited to the Annex

[edit]

Hello, My good Fellow, listen and I shalt telleth Ye a Tale of a Wiki that well comes All Manner of Articles relating to Fiction. What is This wonderful Place of Fantasy, You ask? It is the Annex, Haven to All fiction-related Refugee Articles from Wikipedia.

Before nominating or proposing a fiction-related Article for Deletion, It is My sincerest Hope that Ye import It to the Annex. Why do This, You wonder? Individuals have dedicated an enormous Amount of Time to writing These Articles, and ’twould be a Pity for the Information to Vanish unto the Oblivion where only Administrators could see Them.

Here is a Step-by-Step Process of how to Bringeth Articles into the Annex:

 1. Ye shall need at least three Browser Tabs or Windows open. For the first Tab or Window, go to Special:Export. For the second, go here. (If Ye have not an Account at Wikia, then create One.) Do whatever Ye want for the third.
 2. Next, open the Program known as Notepad. If Ye haveth It not, then open WordPad. Go to “Save as,” and for “Encoding,” select either “Unicode” or “UTF-8.” For “Save as type,” select “All Files.” For “File name,” input “export.xml” and save It. Leave the Window open.
 3. Next, go to the Special:Export Window at Wikipedia, and un-check the two small Boxes near the “Export” Button. Input the Name of the Wikipedia Article which Ye wish to import to the Annex into the large Field, and click “Export.”
 4. Right-click on the Page full of Code which appears, and clicketh on “View Source” or “View Page Source” or any Option with similar Wording. A new Notepad Window called “index[1]” or Something similar should appear. Press Ctrl+A to highlight All the Text then Ctrl+C to copy It. Close yon “index[1]” Window, and go to the Notepad “export.xml” Window. Press Ctrl+V to pasteth the Text There, and then save It by pressing Ctrl+S.
 5. Now go to the Special:Import Window over at the Annex. Clicketh on “Browse…” and select the “export.xml” File. At last, click on “Upload file,” and Thou art done, My Friend! However, if It says 100 Revisions be imported, Ye be not quite finished just yet. Go back to Wikipedia’s Special:Export, and leave only the “Include only the current revision, not the full history” Box checked. Export That, copy the Page Source, close the “index[1]” Window, and go to the “export.xml” Window. Press Ctrl+A to highlight the Code all ready There, press “backspace” to erase It, and press Ctrl+V to pasteth the new Code There. Press Ctrl+S to save It, then upload once more to the Annex. Paste PAGENAME at the Bottom of the imported Article at the Annex, and Ye art now finally done! Keepeth the “export.xml” File for future Use.

Thank Ye for using the Annex, My Friend — the Annex Hath Spoken 01:33, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

just FYI, nothing on the Maryland State Fire Marshal page was in violation of copyright laws. Everything came from the Maryland Annotated Code and was designated as such. Other information was referenced to the state website. Cheers! Sallicio (talk) 20:01, 30 December 2007 (UTC)Sallicio[reply]

Your RfA

[edit]

Hi there. I closed your request for adminship (located at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/VivioFateFan) early, under the guideline known as Wikipedia:Snowball clause on the basis that your request had little to no chance of succeeding. This has no bearing on your worth as an editor, I for one appreciate your contributions, but the community as a whole usually requires a little more experience as you will see from the comments on your nom. Most people wait at least 6 months before nominating themselves. Again, this is no reflection on you, and I'd like to thank you for volunteering to help with an obviously dreary task... please don't be disheartened! And hopefully we'll see you at RfA again in a few months :) Happy new year! CordeliaHenrietta (talk) 00:12, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vivio, I am feeling worse than you are. I lost two of my articles, and Od Mishehu keeps refusing to cheer me up with a barnstar! I need one so badly. It's my only hope of feeling better, because thanks to him, I'm not having a happy New Year.Kitty53 (talk) 09:54, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Videology

[edit]

Hi, my name is Gaetan and I'm the editor of the Videology page you've considered for deletion.

It's never been my intention for the page to appear spammish, but I guess it's hard to keep an objective mind when writing about something you helped create. Since your comment I've attempted to erase signs of 'spammish' or subjective nature. Hope this will do…

If - in the future - there will be any public criticism about Videology, I will also add these references in order to keep the article as balanced as possible.

Cheers, Gaetan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Videology (talkcontribs) 09:13, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adding the notice to the article - Twinkle is behaving very strangely at the moment and whilst it managed to do all the other bits it missed the article itself & I hadn't noticed. Thanks again, nancy (talk) 12:19, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ugh, that big box at the top of the page hurts my eyes.  :) I removed the prod tag from On-beat dance roller skating because there's already an afd tag, if you want to discuss it on the afd page. Corvus cornixtalk 01:12, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, you seem unfamiliar with the inner workings of the math ratings project: only article notable enough to get a rating should get a rating template (this was discussed at WT:WPM some time in the spring, when it was decided to remove all bot-created templates and only recreate them for the articles that deserve a rating). Thus by adding a template pro forma you are actually doing us a disservice. This topic happens to be quite notable, but adding a template without subject area and rating makes no sense. "If in doubt, leave it alone". Cheers, Arcfrk (talk) 08:17, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppetry

[edit]

Sorry, VivioFateFan, I'm not a sockpuppet of Oxideradio or any other Wikipedia user. I'm an exopedian who chooses not to register an account and edits from a variety of ip addresses. I'd like you to get an admin involved to confirm your suspicions rather than simply accuse me of sockpuppetry. Surprisingly, it's quite common for more than one person from an institution to edit Wikipedia.

Thanks, --129.67.162.133 (talk) 16:17, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

EDIT: Apologies if that comes across as somewhat confrontational, but I don't like random accusations of sockpuppetry based on nothing more than that I am at the same institution in which the subject of an article I've edited is based. Perhaps as well as differences in ip address which should be apparent if you get an admin/bureaucrat to look at the logs, it should also be obvious that Oxideradio doesn't really know much about Wikipedia policy (cf. removing afd tags, reposting the same thing on multiple and sometimes irrelevant pages, not signing etc.), whereas I do understand conventions and policy. Again, apologies if it genuinely looks suspect to you, but I am not affiliated with Oxideradio. Thanks, --129.67.162.133 (talk) 16:47, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:AFC Backlog Drive

[edit]
WikiProject Articles for creation needs your help!
WikiProject Articles for creation has done a tremendous job in working at WP:AFC over the past 7½ months. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication! Together, we've made the submission process easier and more streamlined, developed tools to make the process go faster for reviewers, and cut the backlog down to a mere fraction of what it once was. Well done!

As you all are aware, however, our work is not quite yet done. The project still has 10 archive pages left to complete, which include over half a month's worth of submissions, many of which have not been completely reviewed. We need your help to finish looking over these neglected submissions so that we can finally remove the backlog notice from the page, and put an end to the more than two year old backlog that has been a thorn in our side for ages! Participants will receive an AFC Barnstar, so hurry up and help out while there's still work to be done! Make sure to sign in on the WikiProject's talk page so we know who is involved in what promises to be our final effort to complete this goal. Thank you for all your help!
- Happy editing as always, Hersfold (t/a/c) 16:32, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are receiving this letter because you are listed as a participant in the Articles for creation WikiProject at WP:WPAFC. To avoid receiving further notices, please remove your name from the list. Thanks!

Double redirects in speedy templates

Thanks for watching over Bronte O'Brien

[edit]

Man, I put back the speedy deletion notice with a hangon template, and you took it down while I was still scolding the user for taking it down himself. That's some speed there :) --Enric Naval (talk) 09:41, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm sure you meant well, but we don't usually do cross namespace redirects. Now that I am reading WP:CSD#R2 again, I realize that it is supposed to only apply to the user and talk namespace. If you object to the deletion, I'll be happy to undelete the redirect and send it to RfD, but I'm pretty sure it is a very bad idea to redirect from the article namespace to the Special namespace (which can have completely different results from one mirror to an other). -- lucasbfr talk 12:27, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
