Venturefest
First I have pruned this article to the absolute minimum and provided three credible references - the Financial Times, University of Oxford and the UK government.
Second there is absolutely no promotional angle here and no money, favours etc. have ever taken place. For most of its life the Venturefests have been free, sponsored by charities, government agencies and service providers. Many entrepreneurs have been helped and new businesses started.
The fact that Lord David Sainsbury, then Minister for Industry, and David Cameron, then Prime Minister, chose to support, expand and underpin the fairs, speaks to their value and significance. In Oxfordshire, the County Council has played a key role, as has SEEDA.
I believe it would be helpful and informative if a person hearing the word Venturefest had an independent reference point to find out what it is, and then consider whether attendance could be of use to them.
I had hoped that once a minimum article had been set up, members of the Venturefest community could then expand, edit and contribute to the entry.
I am at a loss to understand your reluctance to move this along. There are many, many smaller forums, events, networks which have a Wikipedia entry. Saracens2020 (talk) 12:27, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- You have yet to address the conflict of interest/undisclosed paid editing questions. Theroadislong (talk) 17:41, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
For the record I can confirm I have no financial, ownership or beneficial interest in Venturefest, neither now nor at any point in the past.
I have never undertaken any paid editing for any individual, entity with regard to Wikipedia.
My only direct connection to Venturefest is that in 2000 (could have been 2001) I gave a talk and presentation on internet business models for which I was not paid.
My interest in the fair arises because I would very much like to see a Vewnturefest in Cambridge.

[edit source] button missing
The [edit source] button is missing at the beginning of Draft: John C. Kieffer. How to restore? Thanks. Mathman8574 (talk) 16:57, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
- In edit mode along the top you should see "draft" "talk" then "read" then "edit source" this link will allow you to edit the lede section as well as all other sections. Theroadislong (talk) 17:23, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Hello and thank you gain for your insight - I have revised the article Phil Greiss according to your comments on references, I would appreciate your oversight on the new draft. Thank you

Hi,
Thank you for reviewing my draft. I have made some changes. Would be great if you can please review it once before submitting. Looking forward to your views and suggestions.

Talk page
Hi there, thank you for giving me that warning and stalking my contributions and reverting them arbitrarily. I have now posted on the article's Talk page. Do kindly explain how an academic journal article is not a reliable resource. Otherwise, I'm going to have to infer that your reversions and deletions of my contributions are arbitrary and animated by resentment and bitterness that you were called out on your passive aggressiveness. Thank you. Koikefan (talk) 08:46, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- Please assume good faith. My edit on Jeremiah Lisbo here [1] removed the statement "the Philippines' largest movie production company" which was NOT supported by the given reference [2] You have since replaced the reference and another user has reverted you, you need to discuss this with them not me. Theroadislong (talk) 09:32, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- I did not replace the reference, I added a reference. If your concern was the betterment of the article and not stirring the pot and arbitrarily deleting my contributions, you would have taken the liberty to review the reference I added and you would've seen that it does back up the statement. You could have then intervened when it was reverted back, contrary to the added source. But you did none of that and simply gave a warning about an edit war (because, again, your concern does not seem to be about accuracy but merely interfering with my contributions). So please excuse me if your actions do not warrant an assumption of good faith. Koikefan (talk) 09:50, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Article about Thomas Gangl
Hi Theroadislong, thank you for reviewing my article about Thomas Gangl. Since this is my first article, I would like to understand the criteria for this desicion a bit more. Thomas Gangl is manager of a global acting company - Borealis has 6,900 employees and operates in over 120 countries. Why is an article about him not relevant?
Looking forward to your Feedback. Kind regards,--Lisa Kolb (talk) 08:43, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- Re:Draft:Thomas Gangl (Manager) the draft only has one independent source, his own website is of no use for establishing any notability. In order to demonstrate notability, you need to provide multiple references to in-depth articles written about him in unrelated, independent journals, magazines, books or online. Theroadislong (talk) 09:45, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Ok, thank you. Of course there were more articles about him becoming the CEO of Borealis, but they only published the infos in the media release. Thomas Gangl will give more interviews the next month - is it possible to update the article with german sources (of newspapers, magazines etc.)?--Lisa Kolb (talk) 09:58, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- German sources are fine, but interviews are not considered to be independent sources. Theroadislong (talk) 09:59, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Please Be Aware of Your Biases
Hi, please try to acknowledge your own bias and steer clear from discussions that would implicate it. You and I have had clear engagements that would bias your opinion towards a third party dispute I am having, from your making passive aggressive comments at me, questioning my neutrality, and you, in a fit of pettiness, going around and deleting random contributions I have made. It is very childish of you to stir the pot and then pretend you have no bias in a discussion you choose to participate in.
WP: Third opinion: Third opinions must be neutral. If you have had dealings with the article or with the editors involved in the dispute that would bias your response, do not offer a third opinion on that dispute.
Koikefan (talk) 18:17, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- I have not edited the talk page as a third opinion and your increasingly aggressive comments are not welcome. Theroadislong (talk) 18:30, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- How are statements of fact aggressive comments? Do you deny that you have made passive aggressive comments and questioned my neutrality? Do you deny going to my contributions page and reverting various contributions I have made subsequent to be being called out on said passive aggressive behaviour? Koikefan (talk) 18:35, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Hounding is Unproductive
In my opinion, what you have been doing is a form of WP:Stalk. Specifically:
Hounding on Wikipedia (or "wikihounding") is the singling out of one or more editors, joining discussions on multiple pages or topics they may edit or multiple debates where they contribute, to repeatedly confront or inhibit their work. This is with an apparent aim of creating irritation, annoyance, or distress to the other editor. Hounding usually involves following the target from place to place on Wikipedia.
Please be aware of this, thank you. If this harassment continues I will bring it to the attention of an administrator. Koikefan (talk) 18:44, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- Please do, but beware of WP:BOOMERANG. Theroadislong (talk) 18:47, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
Edit War
Will you be giving the same warning to the other editor or only to me? Because if it's only to me I can't help but come to the conclusion that you are targeting me specifically (which will go towards further proof of WP:Hounding and stalking). Thank you. Koikefan (talk) 07:46, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
thank you for the guidance
Review Comment
I believe it is not appropirate from a reviewer to use "just blatant advertising" feedback to a company profile that is not commerical as you claimed. Its better if you choose your words with a good feedback and recommendation or not to do that at all! — Preceding unsigned comment added by AmmarMismar (talk • contribs) 11:33, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- It is entirely appropriate. There are zero company profiles on Wikipedia, only articles about notable companies. Please also address the concerns about undisclosed paid editing. Theroadislong (talk) 11:39, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
I am an employee at that company in the marketing department, which does make sense to write about it. Can you define what do you mean by Notable? I would expect you to share a criteria created by Wikiepdia for notable companies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AmmarMismar (talk • contribs) 11:46, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- The criteria is in the blue link above and again here notable. Theroadislong (talk) 11:48, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
I added that! What else do I have to do?
Any update dear?
- It looks like you have bypassed the WP:AFC process and moved the draft to main space where it has been sent to WP:AFD, the community will now decide whether your company passes WP:NCORP. Theroadislong (talk) 09:31, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

Hello,
I would like to know how I can publish this article, The youtube video is an official conference on an official youtube channel of Tesla, I pointed others reference to reliable websites. Can you please help me to fit the expected criteria to publish this page?
Thank you
- Wikipedia is not for merely providing information. A Wikipedia article must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about them, Wikipedia has litle interest in what Tesla says about it, only in what others unaffiliated with the topic choose to say about it. Theroadislong (talk) 15:33, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
=> Ok I see, I did not know about that, I will remove the Youtube reference and continue to seek for the reliable independant ones before the new submit.
Deletion of redirect "Dioicy"
What exactly do you want to achieve by deleting the redirect "Dioicy"? I think that the article Monoicous should be at the noun Monoicy or Dioicy – it doesn't much matter which, but I see no point in having both, any more than I see the point of having Monoecy for plants when there's a longer article at Dioecy. Peter coxhead (talk) 17:24, 24 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi, Theroadislong, I have been working on creating an article about C-Change Conversations for a few months, and back in June you rejected the article. One of the comments you gave was that it sounded like paid editing and that I needed to address this before continuing. How do I state that it is unpaid? Thanks a lot for your help, looking forward to your response.
Help with page
I was trying to include information for my band from the 1980s-- but the draft was declined, can you tell me what is needed?
It's very difficult to find online reviews from magazines. Can I attach scans of the magazine reviews? thank you, Amaury
- It's not clear how Draft:Amor Fati Band pass the criteria at WP:NBAND? Discogs is not a reliable source for anything, sources do not have to be online and scans are not required just publication details. Please also review WP:COI. Theroadislong (talk) 17:51, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
IdeaFirst Article
Hi, I just have a few questions. First, you mentioned IMDB, which was not cited in the article (as far as I'm aware); was this a mistake? You also mentioned the use of their website; that's an easy fix as it can just be deleted. However, you also referred to interviews not being viable as independent sources. Can you elaborate on the distinction between an interview and a profile that includes quotes? If an actor were to have a profile about them written in Vogue or GQ, and the profile quoted them, surely that would still count as an independent reliable source? The following, IMO, are profiles/in-depth coverage with original research by the independent news outlet, but which integrate quotes, and are not mere interviews: [3], [4], [5], [6], (in Tagalog) [7], (in Tagalog)[8]. I took a look at the Brad Pitt article and here are a few of the first few references in the article: [9], [10], [11]. These were all, I assume, deemed to be satisfactory independent sources, even though they are basically profiles that function also as interviews.
Koikefan (talk) 07:49, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- My apologies I mis-read the link, if you could add the extra sources you mention and remove the primary one, it should be good to go. The Brad Pitt article is irrelevant, see WP:OSE. Theroadislong (talk) 08:37, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- Done, thanks for checking. Koikefan (talk) 08:55, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi theroadislong
THanks for the comments on Tom Faulkner. I am his brother but not part of the business nor being paid for the wiki entry - just helping write copy. Even so, I get the feeling that maybe he is not a noteworthy subject. If that is so, please could you put me out of my misery!!
THanks Matt (matroot)
Matroot (talk) 12:22, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- I think you are probably right, notability is judged by looking at the depth of coverage in independent, reliable, secondary sources and if there aren't any then it's WP:TOOSOON. Theroadislong (talk) 12:33, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
Draft: VR FleetCare
Hello!
I have now edited my draft and read it multiple times, and can see no reason why it should not be published. All sources are independent and the article is from a neutral point of view. --TaruHeinonen (talk) 12:11, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- I have declined three times, I will leave it for another reviewer to take a look. Theroadislong (talk) 12:35, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
Help
So you just rejected my first article (Net Savings Link) for not being notable. The subject is being reported on by the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, CNN, etc. That does not seem to me to be a "passing mention." I also saw that someone says I have a "close connection with the subject." I have no idea where this comes from. I know of it because I'm into investing and think only the second US publicly traded company with a crypto exchange is notable. I've wanted to write a Wikipedia article for some time but there was never anything "new" I could think of. How can I make this better? Joelsalinger21 (talk) 17:35, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
Independent reliable sources
Yes, I am aware of this. I had many such sources (books in fact) as "reliable sources not the biographee" in an earlier draft. However a different editor unilaterally removed them and said they were not allowed. Editors seemingly contradict each other? Mathman8574 (talk) 17:28, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not seeing in the draft history where this occurred? Wikipedia actively relies on independent reliable sources for all articles. Theroadislong (talk) 20:09, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
Sources
Sources are in the external links. Mathman8574 (talk) 17:08, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- Sources need to be in line following the content that they support for biographies. Theroadislong (talk) 17:10, 26 August 2021 (UTC) Why not further down the page? Initial exposure in high-level language, details
further down.Mathman8574 (talk) 17:31, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry I don't understand what you men by "Initial exposure in high-level language, details
further down"? All content in biographies requires in-line citations to reliable sources, the draft will not be accepted without. Theroadislong (talk) 20:40, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

It's just not clear how long to wait and whether another reviewer will come )--EDS2020 (talk) 18:42, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
Inconsistent!
Three different editors have now said three different things! I know you don't like 'selfies' I am referenced thousands of times on Wikipedia for my books cited frequently so it makes sense to have an article about who I am... as someone who often uses Wikipedia to research others its a frustration when there is no entry to someone whose work is often quoted by wikipedia.
One editor asked it to go to draft and another reviwed it and said he would let it be published!
- Your autobiography Draft:Bo Beolens has zero chance of being accepted as it is. Your draft has zero reliable independent sources, independent sources are what we base articles on NOT primary sources. A Wikipedia article about a person must summarise what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about them, showing how they meet Wikipedia's special definition of a notable person. Theroadislong (talk) 12:27, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
Robert Langford Mayor of Hotham Hill
Hello Theroadislong,
My name is James. I am the person who is working on the Robert Langford Page. He was the Mayor of Hotham Hill, North Melbourne, Australia. He also worked as counsellor of that city also. He died in 1915. The sources I have used are from the Hotham History Society and an Age Article called "Home is where the history is", there also many External links such as; old newspaper from trove (national library of Australia), PDF from the Melbourne website and also a catalogue of a book that is published about him in the national library of Australia. I was wondering what do I need to edit or implement to get the page working?
Thanks, James.
- You need to suggest how Draft:Robert Langford meets the Wikipedia definition of a notable person, being a mayor and a councillor is not sufficient. Theroadislong (talk) 12:28, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
There is a 153 page book written about him. There are sources (I wouldn't say they are top, but it is from real Australian newspapers and articles), Reliable; because these sources do say he was mayor and a councillor. But if you say so... :)
New page reviewer
Is it true that anyone can review new pages even if they don't have the special permission? This is for my edification and has nothing to do with you other than I see you around and know that you have the permission. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 14:00, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
- I think anyone can be a new page reviewer, but perhaps you mean a reviewer at WP:AFC in which case the criteria is listed here Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Participants. Cheers Theroadislong (talk) 14:06, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what I mean, that's the problem. It seems odd to have a special permission but at the same time not require an editor to have the permission to perform the task. For example, rollback is not available to editors without the permission. I've now read Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Reviewers and Wikipedia:New pages patrol, and it seems like a clash of policy and practice. Ah well, it's not the first time. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:29, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
Jep Robertson page
Hi there! Thanks for looking at my draft. I was wondering, how can I improve the page so it can be published? Jep was one of the 4 main cast members of Duck Dynasty for the majority of its run, he had his own spinoff, and has published several books. I appreciate your time once again. --NJ9hnston (talk) 16:09, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- As the decline says you need significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Most of your content is unsourced. Theroadislong (talk) 16:11, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
I gotcha. I’m new to Wikipedia and was hoping someone could help me source it. There are plenty of sources for him, and his co-stars on Duck Dynasty have their own pages on here. NJ9hnston (talk) 21:06, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
If I give you the url to the sources on here, could you help format them onto the page? I can provide them for you. NJ9hnston (talk) 21:17, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
- NJ9hnston You can learn more about how to cite sources here WP:REFB. Theroadislong (talk) 21:26, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
That was very helpful. I resubmitted the article. It is modeled along the lines of his brother Jase Robertson's page, so I believe it should be accepted based on that standard. Thanks. --NJ9hnston (talk) 14:10, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

Sathya Sai Baba entry
I think you made a mistake in categorically stating that Sai Baba's manifestations are sleight of hand. You cite texts that state this but there are many sources who think the opposite. I am not suggesting you state that Sai Baba's materializations are divine but neither can you state they are sleight of hand because you found those claims in some book that is no more authority than you or I. Many things are stated in books. This does not make them facts. I am not altering any other part of your entry. But your categorical claim that Baba's manifestations are sleight of hand is not scientifically verifiable.
- I think it is you that has made a mistake? I have never edited Sathya Sai Baba as far as I am aware, check the edit history. Theroadislong (talk) 16:13, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

Hi, this draft keeps getting re-submitted without improvement; I am 99.9% certain that it has been previously been submitted in an identical format (there are some corrections in ths source I recognise) by an account with a similar user name. I recall it being declined, rejected and (maybe) deleted by several editors of whom I 'think' you were one. I cannot find anything in deletion logs or contribs. Any clues? There's obviously some 'manipulation' going on. I will reject it (pro-tem). Cheers. Eagleash (talk) 13:23, 3 September 2021 (UTC)

I get the all information from the independent new source also websites where they talking about the Sheru who knowing now sheru photography. Also, I apologize because I get some of points from the medium so, there I fixed text which totally unique from, my side such as Hindu told about sheru students from butterflies mentioned in his work. So it's totally independents. and authentic infomation in article.
- It looks like your draft Draft:Sheru photography was deleted for the 7th time, it now requires administrator access because it was repeatedly recreated, the topic is not notable in any case. Theroadislong (talk) 10:57, 6 September 2021 (UTC)
Notability for Draft: Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited
Hi, I have included a reference from a prominent Indian magazine, Outlook Business, that has significant coverage on the company. This article covers the history of the company, its current business. I have also included another Indian magazine, The Week that had some more coverage on the company's R&D There is also a news report by Reuters that talks about the corporate demerger that formed this company. Are these not considered to be sufficient coverage for notability? From my understanding, these are significant coverage that are also independent, reliable, and secondary. Please let me know what else I can add that can get this draft approved.
Edit: This is also a publically traded company that is also frequently covered by financial news outlets. Should I also include independent press coverage and analyst reports of the stock?
- Your draft was rejected, there is nothing more you can do, except give back any money that you have been paid to edit. Theroadislong (talk) 13:07, 6 September 2021 (UTC)

Re: Vietcetera Media's article rejection
Hi Theroadislong,
I'm the one submitting the Vietcetera Media's article for approval. I've just learned that the article has been rejected because:
1/ It's not written in neutral tone. 2/ Problems with sources.
If possible, can I please have a minute of your time to clarify these problems, especially: why is it not considered "neutral tone" but an advertisement?
For sources, I have used a variety of sources, from leading media companies in the world like The New York Times and CNN, everything has been referenced properly. Most of the people mentioned in the article have a Wikipedia page (either in English or in Vietnamese) - and I also made sure to include those in the article. Can you help me clarify this as well?
Thank you so much for your time, and if possible, could I get a bit of advice on how to make the article better, as well as other tips on what to do to get it approved?
Best regards, Joey Nguyen.
- The whole draft is advertising from start to finish. perhaps you need to read WP:YFA and be sure to declare any conflict of interest. Theroadislong (talk) 10:29, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
references
Hi Theroadislong, I've made a ton of revisions to the self-care page and I'm still in the middle of making those changes. My students prepared the original page and it was a real mess! I've now reorganized it to be logical and I'm in the midst of adding references and content. I stopped yesterday to complete a set of training modules. I'll get back to it again in the next day or two. Thanks for the tip on learning about references. I'll look at that. More to come!! Barbara
Hi again, I just opened the self-care page again and my changes are gone! Help! Please give them back to me so that I don't have to start over!!
- Your edits to Self-care removed referenced content and replaced it with unreferenced content, every substantial fact you add requires a source or it will be reverted. You can view your edits by clicking the view history tab. Theroadislong (talk) 17:41, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
Draft:ARANER
Hello There, Actually is not a paid content or advertisment. It's just info from the company. Could you give me further information on what's missing or what should I leave out?
Thanks— Preceding unsigned comment added by IncrentaWiki (talk • contribs) 15:36, 8 September 2021 (UTC)
- Wikipedia has essentially no interest in anything the company has to say about themselves. It is only interested in what people who have no connection with them have chosen to publish about them. The article should be limited to a summary of what such independent sources have said about them and will need to pass the criteria at WP:NCORP before being accepted. Speedy deletion declined: James Robert Hornsby
Hello Theroadislong. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of James Robert Hornsby, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: based on the links and the comment there, I assume this was written by a relative but not copied. The newspaper source mentions him 14 years after his death as having built half the buildings in the town, so some significance is indicated. Try AFD instead. Thank you. Thank you for providing feedback on Tag24 The article is a translation of https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tag24 I have inserted one reference. (like on the German version). Is this enough? Or should I add more? Maybe this: https://meedia.de/2018/02/08/ivw-news-top-50-deutsche-online-nachrichtenangebote-so-populaer-wie-nie-zuvor-visits-rekorde-fuer-bild-upday-welt-zeit-stern-und-f-a-z/? Do you have other advises to make it better? I appreciate your help

- This is the English Wikipedia there are quite different guidelines for acceptance here, you will need at least three high quality reliable sources that discuss the company in-depth, see WP:NCORP for the criteria. Theroadislong (talk) 17:11, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
Questions on my draft: floating sandbox
Hi, i am splayer, the creator of the draft floating sandbox. you recently reviewed my draft and declined it because of few reasons. one of the reason was that it sounded like advertisement, can you please tell what part of it sounded like advertisement? Splayer28410 (talk) 08:27, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
- The whole draft is an advertisement, starting with the external link to their own website, you have misunderstood how Wikipedia works.

Developing Radio Partners Review
Hi, thank you for reviewing my page. I read that using an organization's website for basic info like a mission statement or notable board members was acceptable. The majority of the sources I used were not from the organization's website, and I think I only cited it for the basic info I mentioned before and a few of the smaller projects they are working on. If I delete those smaller projects (or find independent sources for them) can I still cite their website for basic info? I don't think the article hinges on their inclusion, so if I need to delete it, would that then solve the issue? Thanks!
- Your draft is absolutely stuffed with inappropriate promotional prose "DRP is focused on solutions, things that work. We seek out the most appropriate and effective practices" "DRP recognizes the power that radio can have in a community and in supporting development efforts." "DRP focuses on understanding and evaluating the stations with which it partners and tailors its approach to meet the stations’ needs." "DRP has trained more than 1,500 journalists around the world" We have no interest either in what founder Siemering has said in interviews. You are going to really struggle to get this draft accepted. Theroadislong (talk) 17:59, 10 September 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for saying this, my original draft was heavily edited before submission and most of those were added in that process despite my advice not to. I'm having trouble understanding how the 1,500 journalists number or quoting the founder of NPR is inappropriate for an organization training and supporting radio journalists. I'm also wondering if my previous comment about where citing an organization's website would be appropriate (basic org info) is correct.
- "DRP has trained more than 1,500 journalists around the world" is sourced to their own website and will need an entirely independent source, we have very little interest in what the founder has said either I'm afraid. Reliable independent sources are what will get the draft accepted, you would be better advised to remove everything sourced to them or their founder and start from there. Theroadislong (talk) 18:41, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

Hi,
I need your assistance.
I can't understand why my submission was declined (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:DevTEd_Lite).
The reason was: "This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia."
So, as far as I can understand my lacks some references from reliable sources. Why? The draft contains 2 different URLs: 1- the URL of the software manufacturer's site (ninjasoft) 2- the URL of an independent site that posts a review of the software (softpedia)
Where's the catch? Thank you.
Masil64 (talk) 10:44, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
- You have misunderstood how Wikipedia works. Wikipedia summarises what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets Wikipedia's special definition of a notable business. New Page Patrol newsletter September 2021
Hello Theroadislong,
Please join this discussion - there is increase in the abuse of Wikipedia and its processes by POV pushers, Paid Editors, and by holders of various user rights including Autopatrolled. Even our review systems themselves at AfC and NPR have been infiltrated. The good news is that detection is improving, but the downside is that it creates the need for a huge clean up - which of course adds to backlogs.
Copyright violations are also a serious issue. Most non-regular contributors do not understand why, and most of our Reviewers are not experts on copyright law - and can't be expected to be, but there is excellent, easy-to-follow advice on COPYVIO detection here.
At the time of the last newsletter (#25, December 2020) the backlog was only just over 2,000 articles. New Page Review is an official system. It's the only firewall against the inclusion of new, improper pages.
There are currently 706 New Page Reviewers plus a further 1,080 admins, but as much as nearly 90% of the patrolling is still being done by around only the 20 or so most regular patrollers.
If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process or its software.
Various awards are due to be allocated by the end of the year and barnstars are overdue. If you would like to manage this, please let us know. Indeed, if you are interested in coordinating NPR, it does not involve much time and the tasks are described here.
To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here. Sent to 827 users. 04:33, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
Marcus Lyon
Hi there! I've been careless at Marcus Lyon and draftified it without checking the history properly. If I had, I'd have seen that you'd accepted the draft and would have left it alone – I trust your judgement more than I trust my own. So my apologies for that oversight/unintentional rudeness on my part. If you still feel that the page really belongs in mainspace do please go ahead and move it back. The page creator won't be able to do that or submit the draft, as I've indeffed that account – named for a company run by (surprise, surprise) Marcus Lyon, as you'd presumably already noticed. Big apology, regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:47, 16 September 2021 (UTC)

Paid editing
Hello Theroadislong, thank you for responding to my inquiry about my articles.
I am not being paid to draft these articles in promotion of anyone. I am however employed by an organization that supports BIPOC artists in my community. I am fearful disclosing the name of the entity supporting my edits, as I have been alerted that BIPOC editors have a history of being Doxxed on Wikipedia.
I am wondering what best practice would be for solving this conflict, and how we can move forward.
Thanks, Anitepres
- You have stated elsewhere that "The articles were written by neutral third parties, and I have been paid to upload them to Wikipedia" you are therefore deemed to be a paid editor and you need to make the mandatory disclosure on your user page. As for your assertion that "BIPOC editors have a history of being Doxxed on Wikipedia" I have in 15 years of editing here, every single day, not come across this. Abortive Gasp
Hello, You wrote "press releases and Discogs are not reliable sources" And you are generally right about that. Only in this case is the press release obviously from an important German independent record company that clearly takes a stand against (!) Abortive Gasp and does not advertise the band at all. So it's a rather unusual press release that I think is worth mentioning. Thanks very much--Electroindustrial (talk) 20:46, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
Declined submission for Trance Fury
Hey Theroadislong,
Sorry for some of the issues I presented. That is definitely NOT my intention. I'm not sure how to mark that my music was on The Weather Channel without YouTube. There are some fan pages that list all the music. I have a heavy presence with Pandora Radio at 3.1 Million spins. Also, I have a verified account on Instagram.
I realize that you are inundated with millions of crap hourly on Wikipedia and I applaud you keeping your volunteering to make it what it is. I just need some help to get the page to follow the rules. It's very hard to follow everything. I assure you I did not attempt to just throw a page up there :-)
