Thanks very much, Habashia. That was clever to think of the Google cache. Any ideas on finding the original author? Tim Ross·talk 16:00, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy tags

[edit]

I notice you are placing a lot of speedy tags using {{db:not notable}} or some other narrative reason. There are specific criteria of speedy deletions and it would probably be advisable to explicitly nominate the particular reason you are basing the delete requies on: they are documented at Wikipedia:Speedy_deletions. "Not notable", for example, has to guide an appropriate choice when the admin actually decides to delete. A non-notable band could be deleted under {{db-band}} but there is no equivalent category for albums so these cannot be speedily deleted for reasons of notability alone. Further to this, It's probably worth waiting more than 4 minutes from page creation to flaggin something as a speedy delete doue to something being no-notable (which is a non-criteria, according to WP:SPEEDY. In addition, it's polite to notify page authors -- Ratarsed (talk) 13:59, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. As I said to Ros0709, I still have a lot to learn!--Habashia (talk) 14:01, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the effort even though my RfA was closed

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!
