PM Count
[edit]Hi, I'm wondering whether the scope of this consensus is restricted to prime ministers only. I see this kind of 'counting' being used in other articles. Recently, I removed it from this one based on commonname and job-titles since the parameter only mentions 'office'. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 14:32, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
- We focused on Prime Ministers at that RfC, but I believe you are right to remove these counts. GrabUp - Talk 14:57, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

Update Regarding Orhan Awatramani Wiki Page
[edit]Hi GrabUp,
I don't understand why the article about Orhan Awatramani is set for deletion. Could you please update me on the situation? I believe we can improve the article, as this person is quite well-known."
Let me know if you need any further adjustments! Vakanada Putin (talk) 11:38, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Vakanada Putin: This is called AfD. A user thinks the person does not meet notability criteria, so they started a discussion where editors will have to !vote and provide reasons to keep or delete the article. You can also participate in the discussion. GrabUp - Talk 11:43, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you, GrabUp, for the clarification. I will definitely participate in the AfD discussion and contribute with sources and arguments that support the notability of Orhan Awatramani. I appreciate your guidance on this matter. Vakanada Putin (talk) 11:51, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
Small Help in Creating a Wikipedia Page for "Country of Blind"
[edit]Hi Grabup,
I hope you're doing well.
I am interested in creating a Wikipedia page for the movie "Country of Blind" (link: https://g.co/kgs/PxKFCE). Before I proceed, I would appreciate your guidance on whether the film meets the notability criteria for Wikipedia.
I recently created a page for Orhan Awatramani, which was nominated for deletion, and there is an ongoing vote. This has made me a bit cautious, so I wanted to clarify my doubts before starting on this new page. Vakanada Putin (talk) 12:02, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Vakanada Putin: Read WP:NFILM and WP:NFO: for guidelines on creating film articles. Upon checking, I found one review of the film from Outlook. If you find another review, then it will meet WP:NFO. GrabUp - Talk 12:07, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
Request for Review of Wikipedia Draft: "Country of Blind"
[edit]Hi Grabup,
I hope you're doing well.
I have created a draft for the Wikipedia page on the film "Country of Blind", which you can view here: Draft
Could you please review the draft and provide your feedback? Your guidance would be greatly appreciated to ensure the draft meets Wikipedia's notability and quality standards.
Thank you for your help! Vakanada Putin (talk) 13:29, 25 August 2024 (UTC)
Draft Review
[edit]Hi GrabUp,
can you have look on Draft:Omkar Palav !!! it has various notable sources Vakanada Putin (talk) 13:41, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Hey @Vakanada Putin: Please don’t post messages to AFC reviewers every time you create a new article. I noticed you also posted on Safari Scribe’s and DoubleGrazing’s talk pages. Simply submit the draft article for review, and someone will surely accept it if the subject is notable. Additionally, if you want to bypass the draft review process, you can create the article directly in the main space or move your draft there when you feel it is ready. However, if your article does not meet the notability criteria after being created in the main space, it may be taken to AfD or draftified by New Pages Reviewers.
- Regarding the article you asked me to review, the person receives media coverage solely due to one event, which is the “Guinness World Record for fast typing.” This is why the person fails to meet WP:BLP1E, which states, “We generally should avoid having an article on a person when reliable sources cover the person only in the context of a single event.” I hope this you are clear now. Write across the Murray Writers' Festival
[edit]Hi GrapUp. Thanks for your input for the article on the above topic, and yes, you're entirely correct, there is a need for Reliable Sources for this article. Oversight on my part. I was going to put in references, which there are quite a few, but obviously didn't do this quickly enough. Just a query: what would you suggest as a reasonable (minimum) number of Reliable Sources for a smallish article like this? Research17 (talk) 19:39, 26 August 2024 (UTC)

need suggestion for draft
[edit]Hi i have created a article related to movie which is going to release soon. I have collected information from official youtube channel description about cast and director of movie. and some information from website and director facebook account . Since its a movie what another source should i consider . Who will create a fake movie listing in wikipedia . this is my draft . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:RAWAYAN_(2024) Samaysh (talk) 09:36, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Samaysh: Read WP:NFILM to understand which movies are notable enough to warrant an article. Additionally, review WP:N to learn which sources are appropriate for establishing or proving the notability of a subject, such as your film article. User-generated sources like YouTube and Facebook are WP:PRIMARY and therefore unsuitable for establishing notability. Instead, search for in-depth coverage from reliable, independent sources such as news articles. Hope this clarifies things. GrabUp - Talk 09:43, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
Hello. I really want to create an article about this movie, but there may be not enough reference materials. Can I ask if I can use the article so that capable people can expand it? Thank you. 清风与明月 (talk) 12:03, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- @清风与明月: Hey, please read WP:GNG and WP:NFILM to understand how Wikipedia determines notability. To establish notability, significant coverage of the subject is required—not just passing mentions. The subject must be covered in detail by independent, reliable sources such as news outlets like India Today, The Hindu, The Indian Express, CNN, BBC, and others. You can refer to WP:RS to learn which sources are considered reliable. Since you’re creating a film article, you should review these guidelines. If the article meets WP:NFILM or WP:GNG, it will be accepted, but if it doesn’t, then it will not be accepted. GrabUp - Talk 13:18, 3 September 2024 (UTC)

Request
[edit]Subject: Request for Assistance with Rejected Draft of "Ashish Chanchlani"
Hello Mr Grab up,
I hope you are well. I am reaching out to you for help regarding a draft I created on Ashish Chanchlani. The draft was recently rejected, and I understand that one of the reasons might be related to the subject's notability. However, I strongly believe that Ashish Chanchlani is notable, considering his significant impact as a content creator.
I put in considerable effort to ensure that the draft met Wikipedia's standards by including various sources and making improvements. However, I may not have structured the article or used sources effectively enough to fulfill Wikipedia's requirements.
I have seen the excellent work you did with the article "Khan Sir" and was wondering if you could help me in a similar way to bring this article to the mainspace. If you could guide me through the necessary changes or even make some improvements yourself, it would be immensely helpful.
Moreover, the article review mentioned that it has been "salted," which I understand to mean that it cannot be recreated due to previous issues. If you think the article can now meet the required standards, I would greatly appreciate your help in restoring it from the rejected state and making it suitable for the main article space.
Thank you so much for your time and assistance. I value your expertise and would be grateful for any help you can provide in getting this article accepted. Keep Up the Excellent work
Best regards, Amanatadverse17 (talk) 18:28, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Amanatadverse17: Hey, sorry to say, but Ashish Chanchlani currently doesn’t meet any notability criteria such as WP:GNG or WP:ANYBIO. The article has a problematic history as it has been created multiple times despite several AfDs resulting in a consensus to delete. Repeated recreation led to the page being ‘salted.’ I think it would be better for you to work on other topics or biographies. I know Ashish Chanchlani well, but based on the available sources, they don’t meet WP:GNG, which is why the article was deleted multiple times.
- As for the ‘Khan Sir’ article, it was kept because Khan Sir meets WP:GNG, with multiple in-depth coverages of him in reliable sources such as the BBC, which is why it was retained. Thanks for messaging me, but for now, I would recommend focusing on other topics. Ashish Chanchlani may be notable enough for an article in the future when they meets WP:GNG, and I’d be happy to create it then. But for now, there is no notability. Thanks. AFC with plot summaries
[edit]When accepting articles at AFC about movies, films, books, anything with a plot summary, really, please be sure to double-check that the plot summary wasn't copied from an external source. I just removed copyrighted material from Boong (film). While this plot summary wasn't as advert-like as most are, you should always double check plot summaries. Good-faith contributors add them at lot under the mistaken belief that they're not copyrighted. GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 10:06, 4 October 2024 (UTC)

JnK and Haryana articles about the newly elected MLAs
[edit]Good job on these. A couple of suggestions:
- Remember to add Category:Jammu and Kashmir MLAs 2024–2029 for the JnK MLAs. I believe that you've added the equivalent category for the Haryana ones.
- Try to add the relevant infobox ({{Infobox officeholder}}) to each of the articles.
- Add the relevant wikiproject templates to the talk pages : (Biography - politician workgroup, and India - politics and JnK workgroups).

VM Munusamy article should not be deleted he is a great freedom fighter
[edit]Hello admin sir V M Munuswamy is the greatest freedom fighter of Tamil Nadu and even the Governor has mentioned his pride and while writing a work on him in English please reconsider deleting it and he has an article in Tamil Wikipedia. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/V._M._Munuswamy Kala321 (talk) 07:12, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Kala321: Hey, first of all, I’m not an admin, lol. Regarding your concern about the article, I want to make it clear that the subject of the article does not meet the notability criteria as per Wikipedia’s guidelines. You can refer to WP:GNG, WP:NPOL, and WP:ANYBIO for a better understanding of how and why we determine notability for these types of articles. Freedom fighters are not inherently notable per our guidelines, nor does being mentioned with pride by a governor or any other prominent figure establish notability. Notability is established only when in-depth coverage from reliable sources is found, or if the subject was an elected member of the Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha, or any state assembly, or was awarded a prestigious award. Thanks. GrabUp - Talk 07:24, 9 October 2024 (UTC)

Draft: Shehzad Poonawalla
[edit]Hello MrGrabUp, I hope you’re doing well. I’m currently working on creating an article about Draft:Shehzad Poonawalla, but I’m facing some difficulties and would appreciate your help. The article was previously restricted to administrators due to multiple recreations in 2018. To address this, I escalated the issue to the Administrator's Noticeboard, where I was advised to create a draft stub article and submit it for AFC review. I followed their instructions, but unfortunately, the submission was declined. I believe the topic is notable enough, as there are numerous reliable news articles about Shehzad Poonawalla. However, I might not have referenced the sources properly, which could be why the draft was declined. But I believe there are more sources available. If you could help me with improving the references or making edits yourself, that would be incredibly helpful, especially if you think the topic meets notability standards. I’m specifically requesting you because I know how capable you are and greatly respect your work. Thank you for your time and consideration! AstuteFlicker (talk) 15:19, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- @AstuteFlicker: I agree with the decline. As stated in the notification, the subject has not received significant coverage. I have also been unable to find substantial coverage. The subject fails to meet the criteria for WP:GNG and WP:NPOL. GNG requires the subject to have significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources, such as news articles. NPOL requires the subject to have been elected to a national office, such as MP or MLA. In my view, the subject currently fails both criteria. Therefore, I am unable to help you create the article at this time. I suggest waiting to see if the subject gains significant coverage or is elected as an MP or MLA in the future. Thank you. Administrator Elections: Discussion phase
[edit]The discussion phase of the October 2024 administrator elections is officially open. As a reminder, the schedule of the election is:
- October 22–24 - Discussion phase
- October 25–31 - SecurePoll voting phase
- November 1–? - Scrutineering phase
During October 22–24, we will be in the discussion phase. The candidate subpages will open to questions and comments from everyone, in the same style as a request for adminship. You may discuss the candidates at Wikipedia:Administrator elections/October 2024/Discussion phase.
On October 25, we will start the voting phase. The candidate subpages will close again to public questions and discussion, and everyone will have a week to use the SecurePoll software to vote, which uses a secret ballot. You can see who voted, but not who they voted for. Please note that the vote tallies cannot be made public until after voting has ended and as such, it will not be possible for you to see an individual candidate's tally during the election. The suffrage requirements are different from those at RFA.
Once voting concludes, we will begin the scrutineering phase, which will last for an indeterminate amount of time, perhaps a week or two. Once everything is certified, the results will be posted on the main election page. In order to be granted adminship, a candidate must have received at least 70.0% support, calculated as Support / (Support + Oppose). As this is a vote and not a consensus, there are no bureaucrat discussions ("crat chats").
Any questions or issues can be asked on the election talk page. Thank you for your participation. Happy electing.

Invitation to participate in a research
[edit]Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,

Special:WantedTemplates
[edit]Hi! I have been cleaning up WP:Database reports/Transclusions of non-existent templates and Special:WantedTemplates and I noticed that two of your javascript pages are transcluding Template:\s*Cite\s+web.*?. Due to a "feature" in the backend software, even though this is a javascript page, the software parses braces and brackets the same to generate links. It would be very helpful if you could add
// <nowiki>
to the top of your script page (or above the section with this expression) and
// </nowiki>
to the bottom of your script page (or below the section with this expression). Because these <nowiki>...</nowiki>
are inside of javascript comments, it won't impact the functionality of your script, but it will keep the backend sofware from thinking you are transcluding templates. Thanks in advance for your help! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 14:42, 27 October 2024 (UTC)

Question from Miss Michelle ZA (08:23, 31 October 2024)
[edit]Hi there
I have an inspirational person who deserves a Wikipedia page, how di I make one? --Miss Michelle ZA (talk) 08:23, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Miss Michelle ZA: Hey, I hope you are well. To create an article about a person, you must first search for multiple independent reliable sources that provide in-depth coverage of the individual to meet the general notability guidelines WP:GNG for any type of article. There are also specific notability guidelines you can check, such as WP:NPOL for politicians and judges, and WP:NACTOR for actors. Let me know which subject the person belongs to. After you find those sources and confirm that the person meets a notability guideline, you should create a draft using WP:ARTICLEWIZARD. Write your article without any promotional tone and cite the reliable sources you have found that provide in-depth coverage of the person. Once you finish the draft, you can click on “Submit” for review. After some time, an AfC reviewer will evaluate your draft; if it meets our inclusion criteria, your article will be moved to the main space and published. If it doesn’t, the reviewer will provide you with the reason. Also, read WP:YFA for more detailed information. GrabUp - Talk 08:34, 31 October 2024 (UTC)

- It's good to see you doing great work. The script should remove the unnecessary text: * Jodhpur district Official website * Jodhpur district * Jodhpur Map that was left behind. – DreamRimmer (talk) 16:58, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- It is designed to remove only external links. If I add the option to remove text, it will also start to remove valuable content texts from other articles when the script is used on them. Therefore, I think a manual edit is justifiable. I created this script with the intention of tackling articles that have tons of external links in the text, considering that if an editor starts to remove them manually, it will take a significant amount of time. - I would say it is possible to do this without getting so many false positives. This type of unnecessary text is generally added between references section and external links section, so you can track it. Additionally, this type of text usually starts with an asterisk (*), so you can look for asterisks between references section and external links section. In its current form, I believe it should not save the edits directly; instead, it should open in a preview screen and saving should be left for manual confirmation. This is just a suggestion, feel free to ignore it. – DreamRimmer (talk) 17:46, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- @DreamRimmer: I’m working on the preview thing, under testing. GrabUp - Talk 18:07, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hey, I've added a preview popup that displays before removing external links, highlighting in blue the text from which external links were removed. GrabUp - Talk 06:49, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

how do i create an article? i am launching a community writing project and would like to understand how to start an article but also allow fans to write in submissions but in a controlled way --Anonito73 (talk) 11:59, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Anonito73: Hey there, thanks for your message! You can start your article by creating a draft. Once you’ve finished editing your draft, you can submit it for review. If the article meets our guidelines, it will be published to the main space. Keep in mind to cite multiple reliable, independent sources that discuss the subject in depth, not just trivial mentions. You can start your draft article with the help of the Article Wizard, and for a more detailed understanding, you can read this. GrabUp - Talk 12:20, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
New page reviewer granted
[edit]Hi GrabUp, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.
This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:
- Add Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers to your watchlist to follow NPP-related discussions
- If you use Twinkle, configure it to log your CSDs and PRODs
- If you can read any languages other than English, add yourself to the list of reviewers with language proficiencies
You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! Hey man im josh (talk) 15:52, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
