The Global Bell Curve

Your cleanup bot deleted the article "The Global Bell Curve" and the associated talk page. It had just been deleted and I asked the admin to undelete it. Would you mind undeleting it again please. Regards, Atom (talk) 00:05, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Please go talk to the admin who deleted The Global Bell Curve, with regard to getting it undeleted --Chris 06:05, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

I did. The article is in the deletion review list. My post here was to determine why your bot deleted it. As far as I can tell, one admin deleted it, and then someone else undeleted it, and then your bot deleted it again. I am not asking you to undelete, I am wondering why your bot deleted it. Bots can't read

I put in a reference to commons 3.0 license but screwed up with the original upload to File:Aircraft_Reactors_Arco_ID_2009.jpg and did not pick the right option from 37 in the drop down box. Is it OK now or is there some additional Wikivoodoo that must be chanted to placate the imaginary copyright gods who will sue the project into the stone age? --Wtshymanski (talk) 00:23, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

No, now that you've added this, my bots shouldn't harass you anymore. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I hope that you understand with the amount of images uploaded and used on Wikipedia we do need to sometimes enlist the help of bots to manage them. --Chris 04:35, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Nomination for deletion of ACC templates

Hello! A few ACC templates have been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the templates' entry on the Templates for discussion page. This notice is because you are an ACC admin. Thanks! Avicennasis @ 04:33, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Bot query

Hi Chris, just wondering how your bot came to delete Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (quotation and punctuation) on March 7. It wasn't orphaned, as you can see here. I thought I should let you know in case it's happening with any other pages. Cheers, SlimVirgin talk contribs 11:10, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

It was orphaned in the sense that it was a talkpage without a main page. If you want my bot to leave the page alone just add {{go away}} to the page somewhere. --Chris 11:19, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Oh I see. It was created as a subpage of the MoS talk page, but someone moved it, and I think he did the same with a few MoS pages. Best thing probably is to move it back. So the bot won't delete pages that are attached to regular talk pages, presumably e.g. Wikipedia talk:Mos/X? SlimVirgin talk contribs 11:38, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
Yes. The bot ignores all subpages. --Chris 12:55, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

blithfield reservoir

Regarding the picture of Blithfield reservoir, which is from a photograph of my own, perhaps you will explain to me HOW I indicate that on the file and so avoid its imminent deletion. It already says 'entirely of my own creation,' so what more does it need? many thanks Peter morrell 08:40, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

You need to add a valid Wikipedia:Copyright tag to the image. As you created it yourself I can suggest {{PD-self}}, {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} or {{GFDL-self}} --Chris 11:21, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Many thanks for saying what needs doing, I now need to know HOW to do it, if possible, thanks Peter morrell 09:04, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

You just need to choose one of the tags mentioned above (which ever one you feel most comfortable releasing the image under), and replace the deletion tag with the copyright tag you want to use. (For example if you choose {{PD-self}} you would replace {{di-no license|month=April|day=4|year=2010}} with {{PD-self}}) --Chris 09:14, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Many thanks, now done, cheers! Peter morrell 12:10, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

You flagged Environmental_Toxicology4.png‎ as having an unknown copyright status. I forgot to select a license. I fix the problem as soon as I saw your flag. I selected Creative Commons Attribution. Please for next occasion I would appreciate a warning or message in the discussion tab before adding any flag. I own the right to all figures under Environmental toxicology page, because I design and create all the work myself. Hi Chris, your bot flagged File:Cyano-1-RNA.svg as having an unknown copyright status. I think the issue is that I forgot to select a license (I had intended Creative Commons Attribution). Could you tell me if this is indeed the problem, and, if so, how I can fix it? I don't see a way for me to update the license. Thanks! Zashaw (talk) 17:45, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

Please disregard. I think I figured it out. Zashaw (talk) 17:26, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Clark Hatch photo

Chris:

To solve the copyright problem I've added

to the license section of the Clark Hatch photo. Will this solve the problem? Or should it be another term?

    Standing by, Putney55
No, that looks fine. --Chris 02:39, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

I added an FAL license to the image. Is that fine? Backtable Speak to meconcerning my deeds. 01:30, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, that looks fine. --Chris 02:37, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Login fix

Did you update botclasses.php yet so that it will work with the change to MediaWiki API's login mechanism? harej 20:54, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Yes, update to the latest version and your bots should run fine. --Chris 02:35, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

WP:CHU has been moved to WP:CHU/S

The new location of Wikipedia:Changing username is Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple (Wikipedia:Changing username is now just instructions). I don't know if you need to update the bot or not, so I thought I'd let you know. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe 19:34, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Bot error?

Hello. It looks like User:Orphaned image deletion bot is deleting images which are less than 7 days old and in some cases are less than 6 days old. Please see this [1] as an example. --After Midnight 0001 15:55, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Well the deletion template added was dated (incorrectly) April the 10th, however I have added some extra checks which should stop that happening in the future. --Chris 13:35, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
Good deal, thanks. Whether intentional or inadvertent, we can't count on all those users to enter the dates accurately, so I assume that you are using the edit history timestamps now, or some other improvement. Thanks for your response. --After Midnight 0001 23:39, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
