User:Rory096/Changes in Template:Prod

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The following is a transcript of a conversation dated 06:40, 20 June 2006 (UTC) with joshbuddy I had on IRC explaining the incident where I was blocked twice for substituting {{prod}} during the conversion to the {{dated prod}} system.

<rory096> PRODKEY was b0rked

<rory096> pepsidrinka and other admins confirmed this

<rory096> it did not work, it did not sort correctly, i don't know why

<rory096> so it was converted by some admin (definitely an admin, as it was protected at the time) to a system similar to {{subst:nld}} and whatnot

<rory096> which required substing

<rory096> so i said i'd subst it

<rory096> so i started substing

<rory096> then kelly martin blocked me

<rory096> later, someone reverted the admin who changed it, but then the CREATOR of PRODKEY reverted him, saying that we had to use the dated system, since changing it broke PRODKEY anyway

<rory096> so then, the creator of PRODKEY ASKS ON THE PROD TALK PAGE for somebody to subst it

<rory096> so i say, "ok, kelly martin surely won't have any problems now, the creator of PRODKEY agrees that it needs to be substed!"

<rory096> so i started substing again

<rory096> this time manually, since kelly martin removed me from the AWB checkpage

<rory096> and i fixed the dates, too (though I was always going to go back and fix the dates afterwards)

<rory096> then i got blocked again, and the next thing i know a bloody bot was doing it and not getting blocked
