Hi fellow Wikipedian,
I'm a new to Wiki parental unit. I'm a Canadian communications and database professional with a Masters degree from University of Western Ontario and Army command and control background. I have a few young adult children who understand the Wiki world better than I do, but I do have a lifelong interest in Canadian history. I have a couple of pre-Confederation Canadiana bibliographies published through the [then--National Library of Canada] Library and Archives Canada. In a former life I worked for the National Library of Canada in technology.
I spend summers running with our German Shepherds and generally enjoying time travelling around Canada. My favorite Canadian places are:
- Toefield, Alberta (not too far from Viking, Alberta)
- Fairmont, British Columbia (an hours drive from the Columbia Ice Fields)
- Wainwright, Alberta (pretty amazing on the base when the bison are mating)
- Georgian Bay area of Ontario--particularly Owen Sound home of our German Shepherds.
Winters I spend enjoying the spectacular winter wonderland of Eastern Ontario and a bit of consulting in the command and control world.
My areas of interest are as you might expect -- pre-Confederation Canadiana.
I've written an article on
