Naming of good ground

[edit]

Good Ground Windmill was the original Shelter Island mill I. Lore was that it was slid on Ice in winter to the landing at shinnecock, before being placed on the higher 'Good Ground' spot. In 1880 Betts moved it to his dune estate at gin lane. Since shelter island mill II (Sylvester's mill) is already known as the Shelter Island Windmill, keeping 'Good Ground' for the article makes sense.
