Per WP:CRYSTAL, we cannot predict the future. Therefore, any casting must remain off the table until if officially begins performances. Anything can change between now and then. On the date of the first performance, that is when the London cast can be placed. No need for a WP:EDITWAR here. I had a tense exchange about this on another musical page and would prefer not to have a similar exchange on here. Let us discuss this on here. Smitty1999 (talk) 01:19, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Casting info does not violate WP:CRYSTAL, as it is reliably sourced information much like the announcement of actors to play certain roles in an upcoming film or television series. I don't see how a play or musical is any different. Does WP:MUSICAL have any further MOS guidance on this? I could not find any. Thus, by your logic, we shouldn't even make mention of the upcoming castings in prose. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 13:37, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it does. The casting on the boards represent when the show begins performances. Many things can change between now and when the London production actually begins performances. It could be cancelled, recast due to injury or termination of contract. We cannot predict the future. I am just following what other musical pages do. There was a very bad dispute on this subject which led to a partial WP:EDITWAR on the Back To The Future Musical page. I am hoping we do not escalate that on this page. I would suggest talking with user Ssilvers. They are an expert on these pages and can also tell you why casting should remain off the board until they officially begin performances.
