- مصادمات نفق الحائط الغربي (بالإنجليزية: Western Wall Tunnel riots) اندلعت في 24 سبتمبر 1996 واستمرت لمدة ثلاثة أيام، بعد أن فتح الإحتلال المثير للجدل للجمهور، مما أدى إلى أول صراع عنيف بين جيش الاحتلال وقوات الأمن الوطني الفلسطينية، الذي خول قبل عامين، نتيجة لاتفاقات أوسلو. في أعمال الصراع الذي امتد إلى قطاع غزة والضفة الغربية، قُتل 25 من جنود الاحتلال بينما أصيب العشرات، واستشهد ما يقرب من 100 فلسطيني وأصيب 1000. - The Western Wall Tunnel riots erupted on 24 September 1996, lasting primarily for four days, with smaller isolated outbreaks of violence occurring after this period. This conflict was the first between the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) and the newly created Palestinian National Security Forces (NSF). The protests and riots were initially contained within Jerusalem, but over the week spread to cities and towns across the West Bank and Gaza, resulting in 59 Palestinians and 16 Israelis being killed along with hundreds of wounded. The demonstrations started in the morning of the 24th of September in Old Jerusalem, following the opening of a second entrance into the Western Wall Tunnel in the Via Dolorosa within the Muslim Quarter of the city.
