- شبير أحمد العثماني (ت. 1369 هـ / 1949 م) هو عالم مسلم، من أهل الهند. تولّى منصب عضو بارز في حركة الخلافة عام 1333هـ / 1914 م. انتقل عام 1366 هـ / 1947 م إلى باكستان. توفي في 21 صفر 1369 هـ الموافق 13 كانون الأول 1949 م بمديرية بباكستان ودفن بكراتشي. من آثاره: «التفسير العثماني» وهي عبارة عن حواش وتعليقات على ترجمة محمود حسن الديوبندي الأردية للقرآن، وقد قام بطبعها وتوزيعها مجمع الملك فهد لطباعة المصحف الشريف. - Shabbir Ahmad Usmani ou Osmani (en ourdou : شبیر احمد عثمانی), né le 30 octobre 1884, 6 octobre 1886 ou 11 octobre 1887 à Bijnor (Raj britannique) et mort le 13 décembre 1949 à Bahawalpur (Pakistan) est un érudit musulman (alem) indien, puis pakistanais, qui enseignait l'exégèse du Coran (tafsir) et le hadîth. Il est l'un des éléments moteurs du Mouvement pour le Pakistan, à l'origine de l'indépendance du pays. Proche de l'école de pensée deobandie, Usmani participe en 1945 à la création de la Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam à Calcutta. Après l'établissement du dominion du Pakistan le 14 août 1947, Usmani est membre de l'Assemblée constituante pour le Bengale oriental jusqu'à sa mort en 1949. (fr)
- Shabbir Ahmad Usmani (11 October 1887 – 13 December 1949) was an Islamic scholar who supported the Pakistan Movement in the 1940s. He was a religious scholar, writer, orator, politician, and expert in Tafsir and Hadith. Born in 1887 in Bijnor, Usmani was an alumnus of Darul Uloom Deoband. He was the son of Fazlur Rahman Usmani. His brother Azizur Rahman Usmani was the first Grand Mufti of Darul Uloom Deoband. His nephews include Atiqur Rahman Usmani and Shams Naved Usmani. Usmani was the first to hoist the Flag of Pakistan at Karachi (that time Capital of Pakistan) on 14 August 1947, and led the funeral prayers of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He died in 1949. His major work is the Tafsīr-e-Usmāni, which he co-authored with his teacher Mahmud Hasan Deobandi. (en)
