- The next Castilian-Leonese regional election will be held no later than Saturday, 21 March 2026, to elect the 12th Cortes of the autonomous community of Castile and León. All 81 seats in the Cortes will be up for election. The electoral calendar of Castile and León was altered as a result of the 2022 snap election, meaning it is likely for the election to be held in a date different than that of the regularly scheduled May regional and elections in 2023. The 2022 election resulted in a hung parliament, with the People's Party (PP) coming out on top with the worst result for a winning party in a Castilian-Leonese regional election to date. An investiture vote must be held within fifteen days from the Cortes's first assembly—that is, between 10 and 31 March 2022—and in case of being unsuccessful, the regional statute establishes that a government must be formed within a two-month period from such vote, or otherwise a snap election would be automatically called. Considering the 54–60-day period between the Cortes's dissolution and election day, this would bring a repeat election to any day between 4 and 31 July 2022. (en)
