- جوشوا ألدر (بالإنجليزية: Joshua Alder) (7 نيسان / أبريل 1792 – 21 كانون الثاني / يناير 1867) هو عالم حيوان وعالم رخويات بريطاني، وهو متخصص في الغلاليات وبطنيات القدم. كان عضواً في مجتمع متحف التاريخ الطبيعي في نورثمبرلاند دورهام وعضواً في المجتمع الأدبي والفلسفي في نيو كاسل، إلى جانب جوزيف سوان وروبرت ستيفنسون. وهو يتفق مع تشارلز داروين. رسوماته في مجموعات متحف الشمال الكبير والمتحف البريطاني. - Joshua Alder (* 7. April 1792 in Newcastle upon Tyne; † 21. Januar 1867) war ein britischer Zoologe, der sich auf Gastropoden und Manteltiere (Tunicata) spezialisierte. Alder war der Sohn eines Ladenbesitzers in Newcastle und ging bei seinem Vater in die Lehre. Später führte er selber den Laden. 1815 wurde er Mitglied der Literary and Philosophical Society of Newcastle und begann sich für Naturgeschichte zu interessieren. Er befasste sich besonders mit Land- und Süßwasserschnecken und war mit seinem Freund Albany Hancock 1829 Gründer der Natural History Society of Northumberland, Durham and Newcastle upon Tyne. Mit Hancock schrieb er eine mehrbändige Monographie über Nacktkiemer, die das erste große Buchprojekt der Ray Society war. Postum erschien ihre Monographie über britische Tunicata. (de)
