- Fire Escape Collapse (englisch für „Einsturz einer Feuertreppe“) ist eine Schwarzweißfotografie des US-amerikanischen Fotografen , die er am 22. Juli 1975 in Boston während eines Hausbrandes aufnahm. Sie zeigt eine junge Frau und ein kleines Mädchen während ihres Sturzes aus dem fünften Stock des Gebäudes. Kurz zuvor war die Feuertreppe, auf die die beiden sich gerettet hatten, eingestürzt. Die Frau starb an den Folgen des Sturzes, das Mädchen überlebte. Das Foto erschien einen Tag nach seiner Entstehung im Boston Herald American, bei dem Forman angestellt war. Später wurde es auch in vielen anderen Zeitungen veröffentlicht. - Fire Escape Collapse, also known as Fire on Marlborough Street, is a monochrome photograph by Stanley Forman which received the Pulitzer Prize for Spot News Photography in 1976 and the title of World Press Photo of the Year. The photograph, which is part of a series, shows 19-year-old Diana Bryant and her two-year-old goddaughter Tiare Jones falling from the collapsed fire escape of a burning apartment building on Marlborough Street in Boston on July 22, 1975. The fire escape at the fifth floor collapsed as a turntable ladder on a fire truck was being extended to pick up the two at the height of approximately 50 feet (15 meters). The photo was taken with a motorized camera and also shows falling potted plants. Other photos of the series show Bryant and Jones waiting for a turntable ladder and the moment of the fire escape's collapse with both victims on it. Originally published in the Boston Herald American, the photo circulated in over a hundred newspapers and led to the adoption of new fire escape legislation in the United States. (en)

A foto, que faz parte de uma série, mostra Diana Bryant, de 19 anos, e sua afilhada de dois anos, Tiare Jones, caindo da escada de incêndio destruída de um edifício em chamas na Marlborough Street em Boston em 22 de julho de 1975. A escada de incêndio no quinto andar desabou quando uma escada giratória em um caminhão de bombeiros foi estendida para pegar os dois em uma altura de aproximadamente 15 metros.
