- Der SYNC Standard, oft als DIN Sync, sync24 oder seltener auch als sync48 bezeichnet, definiert eine Schnittstelle zwischen elektronischen Musikinstrumenten. Er wurde 1980 vom japanischen Hersteller Roland zur Synchronisation von Sequenzern, Drumcomputern, Arpeggiatoren und ähnlichen Geräten vorgestellt. Eine offizielle Schnittstellen-Definition seitens des Unternehmens Roland existiert nicht. Die folgenden Informationen sind dem Service-Manual der Roland-Rhythmusmaschine TR-808 entnommen. Le standard SYNC utilise un signal d'horloge (ou tempo) et démarrer/arrêter (start/stop ou run/stop). Les signaux sont compatibles TTL : l'état bas est à 0 V, l'état haut est à +5 V. Le signal d'horloge (2,51 V, 24 ppqn pour les machines Roland) définit la vitesse de la séquence ou du motif de percussion.
