- أحمد يوسف الحسن (25 يونيو 1925 - 28 أبريل 2012 )عالم ومؤرخ فلسطيني، ولد في قرية مشيرفة قرب أم الفحم إبان الانتداب البريطاني على فلسطين، تلقى تعليمه في الكلية العربية في القدس؛ يحمل جواز سفر سوري إضافة للجنسية الكندية حائز على وسام جوقة الشرف الفرنسي ومؤرخ للعلوم العربية والتقنية الإسلامية، حاصل على شهادة الدكتوراه في الهندسة الميكانيكية من جامعة لندن. وعمل في جامعة حلب وكان عميد كلية الهندسة وفي وقت لاحق رئيسًا لجامعة حلب حيث أسس معهد التراث العلمي العربي في حلب، وكان أول مدير له. كما كان وزيرًا للبترول والثروة المعدنية والكهرباء في سوريا. - Ahmad Yousef Al-Hassan (Arabic: أحمد يوسف الحسن) (June 25, 1925 – April 28, 2012) was a Palestinian/Syrian/Canadian historian of Arabic and Islamic science and technology, educated in Jerusalem, Cairo, and London with a PhD in Mechanical engineering from University College London. He was Dean of Engineering and later President of the University of Aleppo where he founded the Institute for the History of Arabic Science (IHAS) and was its first director.He also served as Minister of Petroleum, Electricity and Mineral Resources of Syria prior to 1971.He migrated to Canada in 1982. Foi educado em Jerusalém, Cairo e Londres com doutoramento em engenharia mecânica pela Universidade de Londres. Foi o último presidente da onde fundou o Instituto para a História e Ciência Árabe (IHAS) e foi seu primeiro diretor. Ele também foi o ministro do Petróleo, Eletricidade e Recursos Minerais da Síria.
