Strong Magic Shield (強い魔法の盾) is a Sorcery in Dark Souls.

In-Game Description

Sorcery which improves upon Magic Shield. High magic augmentation: left shield.
At Vinheim Dragon School, only magic swordsmen on special orders are allowed to learn this spell which grants temporary strength to greatshields.

Availability[]

Found in The Duke's Archives, above the bonfire balcony overlooking the grove. The chest containing it is on the fourth story, and can generally only be accessed after the player's first encounter with Seath the Scaleless. Getting to the chest will involve falling from a ledge on the other side of the room and landing on a (stationary) rotating staircase.

General information[]

A powerful buff for shields, Increasing their Stability by 50% and negating all damage from any successfully blocked attack. Strong Magic Shield has fewer casts but is more powerful than Magic Shield. However, whilst extra stability can be helpful, Strong Magic Shield lasts only for a scant 15 seconds, making it difficult to use in a prolonged fight or serial engagements.
