Hi there, noticed that you added transparency to that gif. I did a better rip from the original SWF file so it doesn't lose as much quality and has a smoother animation (more frames). The only problem is that there's still white between his legs. Here's the gimp XCF file with all the layers, so if you could fix the transparency or whatever, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Einstein95 (talk) 01:11, 4 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi, no worries. I'm curious, where does the original swf come from? In addition, I need to know the speed of the animation so I can make the gif match using the frame delay. For the slight transparency fixes around the edges (which IMO should be done), I notice that the canvas and frames have been minimised in size already ("Fit canvas to Layers" and "Autocrop"'d), though that actually makes the fuzzy select tool less effective in that since the image touches each side of its layer (and at least one side of the image) then you need multiple clicks to select the now-separated background/surroundings. Is it possible to get one that isn't like that? Thanks.

I believe it came from the OoT3D site, but here's a mirror of it anyway. Oh, and sorry for croping it, I think you can expand the canvas for all layers in gimp IIRC. Here's the extracted images anyway. -Einstein95 (talk) 07:58, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the links/files. I believe you're right about expanding the canvas, though I don't know how to expand all the layers to the canvas in one go (does GIMP even have that function?) KokoroSenshi 08:55, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
Image > Canvas Size... and make sure that Resize layers is set to All (just found that one out) -Einstein95 (talk) 09:24, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
Oh yeah, thanks, I missed that; It'd be nice if they had it separately as well. (also, it took me a while to realise the dotted outline wasn't the layer boundary but a selection based off the previous canvas) KokoroSenshi 11:19, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
I have learnt a few things: Exporting to gif affects the quality, especially the edges (i.e. exporting will shave a bit off the edges), and GIMP exports to only multiples of 10 for frame delay it appears. KokoroSenshi 13:19, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
Well, I uploaded a version, though the edges look a bit jittery. It's hard to predict how converting to gif will affect the edges, and also I don't know how to preview the my gif on the blue coloured background before uploading. KokoroSenshi 00:51, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

Image compressing[]

Yo, nice work with the images. I kinda realized right after you uploaded the TFH artwork that the compressing I had done got reverted due to editing it. It's not really that big of a deal, but I wanted to ask, if you know of png compressing or not. I myself use PNGGauntlet, though there are many alternatives. The compressing takes a while depending on the size of the image. Maybe 20 minutes or so for a 3 MB image for me, but it saves a bit of space. I was wondering if you are willing to compress the images you upload in the future, not that it's necessary, but it's just nice. Thanks again with the images :) PPLToast (talk) 22:41, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

Sure no problem. I don't really mind the time it takes for png compression for the benefits. Though do you know if there would be any tradeoffs at all apart from the time to compress? Beneficial for the end-user in all aspects? Thanks for thanking me too :) KokoroSenshi 10:47, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, it just saves space, no drawbacks of any kind. Oh, and no problem :) PPLToast (talk) 11:12, 21 June 2015 (UTC)

Hey there. We among the staff have decided that we would like to have you among our ranks as an administrator of Zelda Wiki. If you're interested in working with us, please shoot me an email so that I can add you to the staff chat.
If you're not interested, that's OK too! We still thank you for all your wonderful work. - TonyT S C 19:21, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Is there somewhere that and other Lego Ideas could be highlighted?KrytenKoro (talk) 17:57, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

I don't think there's a place for such ideas on the wiki, but I could be wrong. User:Vapid/signature 23:58, 2 February 2016 (UTC)
We could give it its own page perhaps, if/when any make it all the way? Though otherwise I agree with the same degree of certainty that it doesn't seem to fit anywhere; I suppose they are considered fan creations at the early stages, whether amazing or not - anyone can make an account and submit a proposal, right?

Well, I'm more hoping that there's some way we can highlight them while there's still a chance for fans to promote them. I love the idea of having Zelda Legos, so I'm trying to push any set I can find.KrytenKoro (talk) 05:11, 16 February 2016 (UTC)

Hiya[]

Happy New Year!

In case you didn't see it, I've replied to your post at the Discussion Center from two months ago... It's been a busy semester. :P — Hylian King [*] 02:31, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Thank you[]

Thank you for fixing the rest of the lists on Hyrule Compendium. Between having to do a ton of copy/pasting and figuring out how to actually make the code work properly, I just plain got burnt out last night. -Tpirfansteve (talk) 04:47, 16 March 2017 (UTC)

No problem. Good work yourself too for figuring it out and showing how it works. If you want to know, I used a mixture of column selecting and regex find and replace in Notepad++ to make it a bit easier.
