The Upheaval is an event in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It caused caves to open, Hyrule Castle rose, and Chasms opened, allowing access to the depths. It also caused debris from the floating islands to fall, littering Hyrule with Constructs and Zonai Devices. Another side effect of the Upheaval was Gloom appearing near Chasms.

Many new species of monsters, plants, fungi, animals, and materials were discovered after the Upheaval, causing many changes to Hyrule's geography and society. The event happened after Ganondorf attacked Link and Zelda under Hyrule Castle.
