"Land in the Sky" is the first Scenario of the Skyward Sword arc of Legend Mode in Hyrule Warriors.[1] It takes place in Skyloft.
Overview[]
With the land of Hyrule merged with lands from across the ages as a result of the Gate of Souls, the Hyrulean Forces split up to enter each land and close their respective Gates. Link, leading a fraction of the Hyrulean Forces, went through one of the potrals and entered the land in the sky, Skyloft. However they soon find that already the land has become overrun by the Dark Forces led by Volga and Ghirahim, who were fighting the floating island's own Force, the Skyloft Force. Although greatly outnumbered, Link and the Hyrulean Forces join sides with the Skyloft Forces to save the island from destruction.
As the combined Forces bravely enter the battle, they quickly find themselves overwhelmed by the growing Dark Forces. Proxi recognizes Volga as the dragon knight from before, and encourages everyone to not give up. In the midst of their battle, a Skyloft Captain shouts that the Dark Forces have stolen Levias's soup, which is vital to their victory as only Levias can connect the island's collapsed pathways. Link hurries to the Goddess Statue to retrieve the stolen soup. As Link nears the Statue Keep, he hears a voice beckoning him to come. When he arrives, he finds the Goddess Sword in its pedestal, and the being Fi emerges from the blade and introduces herself. Although Link is not her master, she decides to consider him one, and offers her service to him and the Hyrulean Forces.[2] She insists her assistance is necessary to his success, and Link agrees. At the Statue Keep, Link and Fi find the stolen Pumpkin Soup. Because the Skyloftians are injured, they require someone else to bring Levias the soup. Fi promises to deliver the soup to him. The Skyloft Captain also asks if they could help their troops in the west, who are stranded in the Knight Academy Keep.
Link helps escort Fi outside the Statue Keep, where she leaves the soup for Levias. The soup's aroma draws Levias from the sky, who pushes a tiny, floating island to serve as a bridge between the main islands at the bidding of Fi. With the islands connected, the Hyrulean Forces hurry to the aid of the stranded Skyloftians. Their advantage angers Ghirahim, who emerges to steal the Allied Base. Fi leaves to assist their allies in the Knight Academy, and asks Link to stop the enemy commander. When Fi arrives, the Skyloft Captain there asks if she could deliver the soup to the western edge. She complies and carries the soup, but faces the Dark Forces along the way. Link defeats Ghirahim, who then angrily retreats, and he hurries back to assist Fi. Eventually Fi reaches her destination, and uses the soup to lure out Levias again, who pushes another tiny island to bridge the gap between the third island. With the Enemy Base now accessible, the Hyrulean Forces proceed ahead.
However with the lands now bridged, Volga retaliates as he advances towards the Allied Base. Link hurries to put a stop to him. However just when he is about to be defeated, Volga regains his health and grows in strength and Morale. Should Link continue fighting him, Volga will only regain his health again.[3] Levias voices how if only he were at full strength, he would crush Volga himself. Fi provides a suggestion that they go to the Great Fairy and ask her to increase Levias's power. She quickly advances to the Fairy Fountain, however Volga reaches the Goddess Statue, forcing her to stall him and leaving Link to attend to the Great Fairy. Enemy reinforcements appear around the fountain in an attempt to prevent him. Link defeats the Aeralfos there, thus opening the fountain gates. Inside Link summons the Great Fairy, who sends her Fairies to deliver extra Pumpkin Soup to Levias. The soup reinvigorates Levias, and he creates a blast of lightning that shocks Volga enough to weaken him. Link returns to fight Volga again, and this time defeats the dragon knight, resulting in victory for the Hyrulean and Skyloftian Forces. Ghirahim however, watching from afar, devises a plan and begins to possess the Skyloftian Captains.[4][5]
After the Scenario is completed, Fi and her weapon, the Goddess Blade, becomes available for use.
