The Elixir Soup is a recurring Item in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][name reference needed][note 1]

Location and Uses[]

The Wind Waker[]

In The Wind Waker, Elixir Soup is a special homemade soup made for Link by his Grandmother. Being a healthy meal, the Soup heals both his health and Magic Power like the Blue Potion, and also doubles his attack power until he takes damage.[3][4] It is stored in bottles like a Potion and each bottle can hold two helpings.[5]

Link can get the Soup after he cures his Grandmother, when she falls ill. Link does this by going to Fairy Fountain on Outset Island to get a Fairy that will heal her.[6] After being healed, Link can always get a Bottle of soup from her when he runs out, but he can only get one Bottle of soup at a time, unlike Potions.[7] Unlike when he drinks a Bottle of potion, Link smiles before he drinks the soup rather than grimacing; this is likely because it is Link's favorite soup, which his grandma originally planned to prepare for him on his birthday, and the potions apparently do not have a good taste.[8]

Non-Canon Appearances[]

Hyrule Warriors Legends[]

HWDE Elixir Soup Food Icon

In Hyrule Warriors Legends, Elixir Soup appears as a Drink-type Food much like in The Wind Waker. It is imbued with the Fire Element. When consumed by a Companion Fairy in the Dining Room of the My Fairy mode, Elixir Soup can increase the Fairy's Trust level and personality traits.

Notes

  1. Elixir Soup was referred to as Elixer Soup on Zelda.com's encyclopedia.[2] However, as this contradicts the name given in-game, it is not considered Canon.
